Nice to hear. My first offspring is also due to arrive later this year.
Apart from that I've finished my PhD (or to be more precise, Dr. rer. nat.) and am now looking for employment in the real world.

Congrats! It's a weird and wonderful experience. The first 2-3 months are a little rough due to sleep deprivation, but after that it gets better I promise.

I think with our in-laws it was the other way around, it's a big lottery of unpleasant surprises
One I'm nevertheless very much looking forward to. For the time being, I mostly enjoy ultrasound imaging at every possibility and otherwise try to keep my wife comfortable.
