"WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE PIECES OF LORE IN CP77?"
The garbage. There're garbage piles everywhere. And each of them tells a story.
It's not just that garbage has been drawn there, it's really saying that, because the garbage was no longer being collected, that people began to dump their garage in a corner. Once someone started to do that, a lot of other people started to do that as well. That pile really tells that that has been going on for a looong time, as it's been growing so high that it started to collapse.
Taking the NCART you can see gigantic stacks of garbage on the roofs of some buildings, telling that people, instead of taking their garbage downstairs, they take the elevator upstairs, and dump it there instead. That had been going on for such a long time, that the pile collapsed, and bags fell down on the streets.
There're tons of places like that spread out throughout the entire city. It really is a severe issue. It's not that the city is producing a tat bit more garbage then it disposes, it's really telling that a colossal amount of garbage is being produced, compared to being disposed.
I literally took a flight over the city just to see if it actually has even a single garbage disposal plant. Supposedly found one in the industrial district, and another one in the landfill. But apparently it isn't by far enough to cope with all its garbage.
Find it fascinating till this day how the Reds were so thorough to waylay that message in such a realistic way.
Coming out of the underground casino, I saw those pipes mounting into the river. Saw them lotsa times before and paid them no heed, but this time stopped for a moment staring at them. It was then that I realized that those are in fact sewage dump pipes.
They are massive. And not only one but no less then six of them at that. As the city clearly is unable to sufficiently dispose its garbage, assumed sewage was being dumbed untreated directly into the environment.
Makes you wonder where it gets its drinking water from.
Night city has not one, but two major nuclear power plants. Makes you wonder where they're bringing their nuclear waste, as the trains are no longer running.
From what I've seen, would estimate that about 70% of the people in Night City live in poverty, 15% barely visible part in average, and the last part can consider themselves rich. If these numbers are in any way close to accurate, then Night City could never hope to sustain itself independently, then to seek relations abroad.
Found it amazing how the Reds were able to tell the story of Night City in this fashion. Didn't understand it at first, but now I do.
