Why even bother with choice? (Phantom Liberty spoilers)

Let me start by saying that I don't mind if there is SOME illusion of choice. It's understandable that some dialogue options would lead to the same result. However, I think in this case it's just too ridiculous.

I was enjoying myself in Phantom Liberty, but then I got to the quest about getting help from Slider to find Songbird using Blackwall. At the end of a very, very, very slow and long unskippable (skippable but it doesn't work) cutscene where we talk to Songbird, you have an option to ask Reed to unplug Slider. It's one of those dialogue options that require high Intelligence. Not only that, it's time sensitive - you have about 2 or 3 seconds to read the words and choose this option. Unfortunately, my build was low on Intelligence, so I couldn't pick it, and Slider died. Even if I did have a high enough intelligence, I know I wouldn't be able to click it in time on my first try.

So I reloaded the game, respecced my character into a High Intelligence build and tried it again, just to see what happens. Nothing changed. Nothing at all. I was essentially baited into losing my time. It's the equivalent of saying "Congratulations! You failed!". Why would they do this?!

Hey,
I think the main difference here is that with high intelligence V tells Reed to unplug Slider.
Otherwise, (s)he doesn't.
It's a pure roleplaying choice, at least that's how I see it.

I also didn't like how many things felt forced in PL, including pieces of the main story:
- Kurt figures Reed and V are FIA
- Alex's death
- nothing notable about So Mi's fate
- Slider's death
- the car company restores the antennas
- Mayers escorted and gone from the apartment in a finger-snap
- checks with the lowest possible value (opening doors/windows)
- ...

I have just finished the main story of PL and was actually pretty disappointed by it all. The selling point of PL was that it was going to be more spy/assassin based but seemed very rushed with only a couple of stealth bits, it's a shame because it could have become something very good and long playing. For me it feels that the thought was there initially but then someone got told to make it shorter so it wouldn't compete against the main story. Hopefully CDPR can add some extra to PL to make it a more worthwhile escape from the main mission, maybe push it more along the lines of the spy merc, with a lot more emphasis on being an invisible entity when going against enemies and more missions based around the NUSA need for control.

The only thing I really Enjoyed about Phantom Liberty was Dogtown its self and the Lizzy Wizzy show. The Characters were mediocre, The story didn't feel like anything Remotely Spy, I felt i went loud more than usual. I usually go silent. Not many add on's for existing Characters was a bummer. El Crapitan car jacking feature was good though kudos for that add on. I think One expansion for this Masterpiece is just sad. Still my favorite game though. But CDPR needs to add more to keep me interested, Especially for future Creations. Cyberpunk 2077 in my eyes is whats keeping me the PC world. I already started investing in Nintendo products and i spend thousands on my Games/hobbies and Merchandise. Im done with Steam,EA,Bethesda,Blizzard...etc Sorry for my rant, I just feel Cyberpunk 2077 being abandoned is a big mistake. and it hurts my Fe Fe's. I love the game that much. Oh bringing Sony games to GoG is a positive. Thank you! I hope i didnt make your eyes bleed.
