Visual(scripting) issues introduced with 2.0 update

Ever since 2.0 came out, I started noticing a lot of weird issues in the quests of the base game, 2.0 seems to have introduced some scripting, pathing issues into the quests, that were completely fine prior the 2.0 update.

In this thread I would like to make a list of issues I have noticed, including some, that were problems even prior the 2.0 version.
Please, feel free to use this list and report it directly to CDPR Support: CDPR Technical Support Increasing the chance of getting these issues cleaned up and fixed.

Note: These issues are mainly from the PC version, so it´s possible on consoles they are non-issue. Each problem will have stream clip included- they are easy to make (just ignore the talking heads sometimes ;) ), also it is possible that some of these got/will get fixed, but due to the difficulty of checking everytime new patch comes out and by the simple fact that CDPR usually doesn´t mention these visual fixes in the patch notes- I will be just adding to the list, unless someone mentions, that the issue from the list has been resolved.

Now before starting with my own list I would like to give a spotlight to a user Crimsomrider, who made his own awesome list of issues, which he keeps constantly updated: Crimsomrider´s list



1) Judy now teleports in the underwater section, seems like 2.0 broke her scripted pathing, right before going to the church: Judy teleports- pathing bug


2) When you enter the car with Joshua for the first time in the ´´Sinnerman´´ quest, the car now snaps(teleports) into the correct position, instead of smoothly driving like it used to do: Car teleports into correct position bug (Sinnerman quest)


3) Drinking animation bug in the first Kerry quest: Drinking animation bug (Kerry quest)


4) Invisible gun when Kerry hands it to you after the concert- this bug seems very random, sometimes the gun model is visible, sometime it´s not: Invisible gun (Kerry quest) -Apparently this bug might be related to getting the gun earlier from his house.


5) Now this bug is in the game for a long time: 1) When Sasquatch hacks V in the boss fight, the jack in wire is always invisible: Invisible hacking wire (Sasquatch fight) 2) Same thing here- when disconnecting from the Basilisk tank, the wire is always invisible as well: Invisible wire when disconnecting from Basilisk tank


6) Invisible blood when V coughs: Invisible blood when V coughs bug


7) Not entirely sure if this is a bug, but it seems weird that Judy has her standard outfit in bed, when waking up next to her in the Sun Ending: Judy´s default outfit in bed (Sun ending)


8) Carol is holding invisible data pad in the Nomad Ending: Carol holding invisible data pad bug (Nomad Ending)


9) V´s mouth doesn´t move in some of the endings and V´s neck is glitching out- because of the issue mentioned in the 30th point on the list: V´s mouth doesn´t move bug and V´s mouth doesn´t move and neck glitching out bug


10) Mitch leaning on nothing in the end credits (Nomad Ending): Mitch leaning on nothing in the end credits bug -Still not fixed as of the 2.02 version.


11) NPC animation transitions are causing them to float in the air: NPCs floating in the air bug


12) So apparently after unlocking the Dogtown shower in the secret hideout, there are no shower droplets in any showers anymore, only audio: Showers broken- forum thread


13) V´s apartment stash weapon wall still doesn´t show crafted weapons correctly and the apartment radio still can´t be interacted with either. Also, after 2.0, when leaving the door to the H10 apartment open- they now stay open, no longer closing on their own like they used to, stash doors no longer being interactable so one has to use the button by the side and the prompt for Phantom Liberty's *Metal Pin* being present since the very beginning of the game.

Ray tracing/Path tracing hair shadows are still not working properly even after the supposed fix in the 2.01 patch, which didn´t fix the issue entirely. Here´s a mod fixing this issue but it causes some other problems, so it´s not ideal: Restore hair shadows mod


15) This includes a few smaller issues: 1) Panam´s vehicle turret now has a really annoying sound effect when turning it around, ever since the 2.0 update: Annoying Turret Sound FX 2) The doors to the motel room with Panam, can´t be closed now: The doors in the motel room can´t be closed 3) And Panam´s vehicle has a little seizure when V enters it in the tunnelso_O: The Car seizure


16) There is an issue, where opening/closing menu or talking to a NPC causes framerate drop that gets worse over time- only solution is to restart the game at that point, possible memory leak may be behind this problem: FPS DROP AFTER OPENING / CLOSING A MENU OR TALKING TO A NPC Forum Post


17) GIG: Every Grain of Sand from Dakota seems to be bugged- the last objective is to retrieve the gift, which is a car in V´s garage, however when going to the quest marker, the car is missing: GIG: Every Grain of Sand bug- Forum Post


18) Two Night City issues since 2.0: 1) The big neon lights going into the sky are missing- this seems to be the cause: The neon lights disappear during the mission- ´´Lightning Breaks´´ (finding Hellman) when the player blows up the power station, then do not reappear until the player completes mission- ´´The Hunt´´: Neon Lights missing bug- Forum thread 2) Night City no longer has AVs flying around- AVs are missing until the player physically goes to the City Center area, after which they´ll start spawning again: AVs in Night City missing bug- Forum thread


19) These three bugs are in the game for a long time as well I´m pretty sure, unless the 2.0 reintroduced them again: 1) In Johnny´s quest, when V lets Johnny take control- there is NPC sitting inside another NPC at the bar, clipping into each other: NPC inside another NPC bug (Johnny quest)
2) In the ´´Never Fade Away´´ mission, when rescuing Alt- Thompson´s visor(camera) model is doubled, again clipping into each other: Thompson´s visor(camera) is doubled bug 3) Floating loot in the air instead of being inside the crates: Floating Loot in the Air bug


20) Now this includes a few issues I wanted to mention, Note: It´s possible some of these got fixed in 2.1: 1) AI issue with the thugs in front of Finger´s clinic, after aggroing the group of thugs- they won´t start attacking the player until player attacks them first: AI issue with the thugs 2) Same thing with Woodman in Clouds, after aggroing him- he won´t start attacking, unless player attacks him first: AI issue with Woodman 3) The bodyguard NPC in Clouds has broken animation- he starts sliding away after the conversation, almost like the script for his walk animation is delayed: NPC in Clouds has broken animation(slides away) 4) Any dumbbell lifting NPC starts to fly when stealth grabbed from behind :LOL:: Dumbbell NPCs fly when stealth grabbed bug
5) When selecting a dialogue option: ´´Leave him alone, he´s harmless´´ while defending Garry against the Aldecaldos- right when they´re about to finish their last line of dialogue, their sentence gets cut off early and the fight begins instead: NPC Dialogue cuts off early bug 6) In the ´´Happy Together´´ quest, when Barry dies in the bad ending- Mendez and Petrova are talking at his taped up door, when Petrova suddenly teleports to the door, either script or animation bug: Petrova teleports bug

Three instances of buggy NPC pathing introduced with 2.0: 1) In ´´The Prophet´s Song´´ mission, when V is waiting behind cover for the meeting to show up- The NPC named Jane Doe has a pathing issue now, where she leaves the vehicle and goes to the scripted place for the meeting but after 2.0, her pathing script is bugged where she paths back again towards the car and finally then the scene continues. Here´s the pre-2.0 video of the scene: Pre-2.0 correct pathing of Jane Doe and after 2.0: Post-2.0 bugged pathing of Jane Doe 2) In the GIG: A Lack Of Empathy the drunk Ogre who talks to the bartender and eventually goes into the bathroom is broken as well- his scripted pathing triggers twice same as Jane Doe´s, plus he can´t be stealthily taken out because his buggy script immediately triggers combat: GIG: A LACK OF EMPATHY bugged- Forum thread 3) Now this is more of a scripting problem, than pathing one- In the final race against Sampson, right before getting the choice to go after him or finishing the race, a script happens that makes Sampson´s car weirdly accelerate- not sure if this is intended behaviour but it´s far from looking seamless, that´s for sure: Sampson´s car skips ahead when the script activates


22) Another issues post-2.0 update: 1) GIG: Guinea Pigs- all of the Militech personel instead of using human animations are instead using droid animations for some reason: GIG: Guinea Pigs- Animation bug Forum Thread 2) There seems to be an issue where some people are getting buggy holocalls, where some random NPC is stuck in every holocall- behind the character you´re currently talking to, in this case it´s Regina but some people are getting Delamain stuck in the holocalls as well: Holocall bug- Reddit post 3) Minor visual issue- when V gets dizzy in the scene after exiting the VDB church, V knocks down a cart that clips into a kid NPC and when putting the cigarette in her mouth, the cig is not placed correctly in the mouth instead floating in front of the mouth: Cart clips into a kid and floating cig issue 4) When talking to Jackie in front of the Megabuilding H10 at the start of the game, the background NPCs near the road stop moving and when player leaves the conversation with Jackie- they start disappearing: Background NPCs stop moving, then disappear bug 5) In the ´´Fortunate Son´´ quest, when you first meet Contact- his first line of dialogue is always silent, only subtitles show up: Contact´s first dialogue line is silent bug 6) Field of View bug after waiting in the ´´Pisces´´ quest, before meeting Judy: FOV bug after waiting in the Pisces quest


23) Pretty serious issue here: A ton of Hostile Areas throughout GIGS, NCPD events and even random locations out in the world are bugged, which ruins a lot of missions, gigs and events because hostile areas are not triggering correctly or enemies do not react to V being in forbidden areas.. 24) 1) I´m pretty sure this was fixed at some point, but it seems 2.0 reintroduced this issue back into the game- any wheelchair NPCs will now stand up whenever player aims at them: V can now heal the handicapped in 2.0 issue- Reddit post 2) RTX applies a chroma effect to skin- apparently this is caused by ray-traced reflections, more detailed explanation: RTX applies a chroma effect to skin bug- Forum thread 3) As of 2.0; with RTX enabled V's shadow completely breaks apart because RTX makes both 1st & 3rd person models cast shadows now: V´s shadow completely breaks apart with RTX bug- Forum thread 4) Update 2.0 reintroduced the DLSS flickering issue that was fixed in the 1.63 patch- regarding the bright, colorful flashes appearing at the edges of certain objects when DLSS is enabled, here are two forum threads describing the issue with video included: UPDATE 2.0 DLSS FLICKERING ISSUE and 2.0 DLSS Excessive Flickering and Flashing Issue


25) 1) Some people are having a Game-Breaking issue not being able to leave the Basilisk tank in ´´Belly of the Beast´´ mission, forum thread with more details included: Belly of the Beast- game breaking bug, can´t leave the Basilisk 2) GIG: Talent Academy: Completing the new gig "Talent Academy" will force the hostile background music to play even in the inventory and map screens: GIG: Talent Academy- forced hostile BGM bug: Forum thread 3) In the ´´Rebel! Rebel!´´ quest- the new police system in 2.0 made the scripting of the cops arriving little glitchy here. When V gets back into Kerry´s car, the cop dispatcher says that the order has been restored and clears the wanted stars, only to get the stars back 2sec later and her announcing that the suspect is still in the area: Janky cop system in the Rebel! Rebel! quest after 2.0 issue 4) In the ´´Riders on the Storm´´ mission, when a player chooses to meet Panam at the rescue location instead of riding there with her- Panam´s dialogue is broken, she keeps skipping her lines, it´s like the game doesn't recognize that those lines of dialogue should not be played when opting to meet her at the place: Riders on the Storm- Panam´s dialogue bugged after skipping the ride: Forum thread 5) Another Panam issue- when interacting with Panam directly in the Nomad camp and talking about the Phantom Liberty content with her, the voicelines all have the same filter that's put on the phone calls: Panam´s PL voice lines- phone filter bug: Forum thread


26) 1) ´´I Fought the Law´´ quest is very glitchy after 2.0: Skipping the ride with River breaks the entire scene, V´s seat starts to recline- two times and River´s driving needs some tweaking with the updated 2.0 traffic behaviour: 1st seat reclining: Seat starts to recline bug 1 2nd seat reclining: Seat reclining bug 2 and here´s more detailed explanation of the whole issue: I Fought the Law- very glitchy ride: Forum thread 2) Also in ´´I Fought the Law´´ the crouching issue is reintroduced in 2.0 again, when leaving the car after the Braindance: I Fought the Law- crouching bug 3) For some people the quest ´´Push it to the Limit´´ never appeared, possible reason behind this issue seems to be related to completing every gig El Capitan has to offer before starting Phantom Liberty: Push it to the Limit quest never appeared bug: Forum thread 4) ´´Gas Gas Gas´´ car reward and ´´I'm In Love With My Car´´ gig car are missing: ´´Gas Gas Gas´´ car and ´´I´m in love with my Car´´ gig car missing bug: Forum thread


27) Since 2.0 came out- the traffic behaviour is now pretty broken in some aspects: Mainly regarding the random cars just stopping in the middle of the road for absolutely no reason, constantly creating traffic jams. Here are some places mentioning the broken traffic after 2.0: 1st a video showing exactly the problem: Traffic not working after 2.0 and 2 Forum posts: Traffic is horrible v.2.0, Traffic completely broken in 2.0 -Note: This was improved in 2.01, 2.02 and 2.1 but it still needs some work.


28) This issue seems to happen randomly- Sasquatch´s AI sometimes completely breaks in the boss fight: She starts T-posing and stopping herself before every punch, reloading the save is needed to fix it: Sasquatch AI broken- bug: Reddit post -So apparently this issue seems to happen much more likely when playing on Normal or Easy difficulty(and it seems to apply to some other bosses as well- like Placide, Kurt Hansen e.g.) My guess would be that by tweaking the hard and very hard difficulties in 2.0- some kind of issue was introduced mainly into the lower difficulties, that´s causing some enemies AI´s to glitch out now.

There are some problems with the miscalculations of Cyberware Capacity and the Cyberware Capacity shard drop rates appear to be bugged as well. 30) 1) This visual issue has been in the game pretty much since the launch: The Excessive Brightness when driving cars in First Person Perspective issue is still present as of the 2.02 version of the game and it´s especially noticable with Ray-Tracing enabled. Video and forum thread showcasing this issue: Vehicles- Sunglare Visual bug and FPP Vehicles Lightning bug: Forum thread 2) Although the flickering neck issues of the NPCs were fixed in 2.02, the neck/shoulder texture bug on female V´s model when wearing tanktops is still present- this was fixed in 1.6 but since 2.0, it´s back and even worse now, there are actual holes in the model now and there is visible neck seam as well: NECK AND SHOULDER SEAMS ON V’s MODEL bug: Forum Thread


31) Now this is more of a suggestion(wish) for CDPR, actually three wishes: 1) After 2.0- Movement keys are now selecting dialogue choices, this is very annoying change, it would be awesome to have this either reverted or at least an option to be turned off: Movement Keys Selecting Dialogue after 2.0: Forum thread 2) And if we could get an option to disable the auto-selection of the next main quest missions, whenever gig or whatever else gets completed- that would be greatly appreciated as well (y): Auto-Selection of Next Mission: Forum thread 3) Also, could we get some tweaks of the Skill Checks Increasing/Scaling with Player´s Level since 2.0 please, the scaling seems too aggressive as it is currently in 2.02- In this forum thread there are numerous examples of overblown scaled skill checks: SKILL CHECKS INCREASE/SCALE WITH LEVEL: Forum Thread


32) 1) This annoying audio issue happens when staying still in a vehicle for about 50 seconds- the music gets muffled and fades out, especially noticable in 3rd person view. Audio fades in and fixes itself again when driving a bit. (Music gets muffled at around the 42 second in the video): Music muffling after Idling Issue (2.1) 2) This bug seems to happen randomly- Rogue is sometimes without her Jacket when leaving the Helicopter, it fixes itself after planting bomb in the elevator: Rogue naked Issue after 2.0 3) Now this issue has been in the game since launch, surprised it still wasn´t fixed- in the chase scene with Takemura, one of the ´´Terminators´´ jumps on top of Takemura´s car- for a brief moment the shooting animation and the gun´s audio is bugged, it looks really strange. (-It happens around the 17th second of the video): Animation and Audio Issue (Chase scene) 4) Random bug where V´s hands disappear, reloading a save fixes it. Mantis blades while having the Ballistic Coprocessor cyberware equipped may be related: Invisible hands Issue


33) Some more visual issues: 1) While doing the first equip animation- the right arm mantis blade has a missing texture: Mantis Blades missing texture Issue 2) When equipping mantis blades- the inventory screen doesn´t show them equipped unless pre-viewing some clothing item first and then backing out: Mantis Blades inventory Issue 3) Yaiba Kusanagi´s exhaust flames are much lower than they should be, not correctly aligned with the exhaust pipe: Yaiba Kusanagi exhaust Issue 4) Dex gets completely stuck in place for no reason and no longer drives away now. Also, you can see car despawning when Dexe´s car tries to drive away, this happens very often as well after 2.0: Dex gets stuck Issue after 2.0


34) 1) Female NPC in the ´´Tune Up´´ quest- clips into the ground when she walks away: ´´Tune Up´´ NPC Issue 2) RT/PT Issue: Especially with Path-Tracing enabled- all of the destructible environment is completely black when destroyed, underneath: RT/PT Issue with destructible environment 3) Getting wanted star while helping NCPD Issue after 2.0- this is an annoying issue that seems to happen very often while helping NCPD now: Getting wanted star while helping NCPD Issue after 2.0 4) NPCs: items stuck Issue after 2.0- a lot of random NPCs have objects(items) stuck in their hands, that shouldn´t be there. Seems like some kind of rendering problem, stopping proper despawning of these items was introduced with 2.0: NPC stuck items Issue after 2.0


35) Spawning/Despawning issue still keeps happening in 2.1- In 1.63 version this was completely fixed but after 2.0 the NPC spawns are too slow to keep up with player´s camera movements, resulting in them not spawning at all until player looks away again: Despawning Issue (2.1) and Despawning Issue (2.1)

... also I can confirm that Johnny's "Chippin' In" quest is still bugged,

happened already twice for me in different play-troughs!
Plus whole cyberwere capacity relayed mechanics is getting randomly bugged :

Thanks for the confirmation and I added the Cyberware capacity issues into the list as well ;)
 
Unfortunately, most of these will not get fixed. The game was almost completely bug-free in 1.63 - I wrote down all bugs I encountered in two, full consecutive playthroughs and it was a very small and minor list compared to this.

CDPR seems to be outright ignoring some things like cyberware capacity, V's apartment radio, and so on.

If I didn´t believe they would fix these issues I would not go through the trouble making this list, give them some time- they changed a lot of things and naturally introduced a lot of bugs back into the game. I agree that 1.63 was almost perfect but I believe CDPR will get it into that polished state again and hopefully this list makes it a little bit easier for them. (y)

You're doing God's work choom! 2.0 are almost a new game, so yeah it has some 2020 vibes !
I bet 2.63 patch gonna be near perfect !
 
Can we get an update soon on how many of these problems were fixed with 2.1?
I´m just a one guy, I won´t be testing everything and making updates to the list- this is mainly for CDPR, they have to know what they fixed and what still needs attention- this ain´t my full time job at CDPR :ROFLMAO:

- Feel free to help and point out issues that were fixed in 2.1 update, there´s a lot of various quest issues in my list- it´s not easy to check the fixes, since CDPR doesn´t mention most of them in the patch notes..

So sorry to do this, but this thread will need to close.

Gigantic lists like this normally result in nebulous discussions that are impossible to follow after a time. It will remain visible, but please keep threads to one topic at a time, and be sure that the topic is placed under the correct forum page: Suggestions, Technical Issues, Gameplay, etc. You can post again by cutting / pasting from this one to create individual topics.

Also, be sure to peruse the first 3-5 pages of posts on the associated pages -- a number of these topics already have dedicated threads. Please, post about those issues in the existing discussions.
