Now that's a serious mistake :whatthe:. Not only because of FCR. Dexterity is equally important in Flash mod and it's not something new, I already wrote about it in this thread. You can focus on signs, it's perfectly viable build, but sign user also needs good defense. You can ignore strength completely but then you should max dexterity and then inteligence. Specter type enemies are extremely resistant to fire. I mean, they are ghost, how do you want to burn them... "Normal" humans can't hit ghosts. Ghosts are incorporeal, you need specter oil to hit them with sword and do it with strong style. Fast style is for armored opponents, strong style is for thick skin, material or not. Resistant to sword, fire, immune to knockdown and stun but... very vulnerable to magic. Yrden does short work of Specters. All of this is not a hidden knowledge of mod author. It's all in bestiary, just read it.Oh, you just say that. I'm at level 13 and need 2 more silver talents (4 levels) to get dex and stamina to level 2. I think I really went the wrong way, how am I supposed to gain four levels, when I can't do quests because they all have to do with killing things? Sigh, I will pay for my mistakes and try to work hard... what was that about discouraging grinding? How ironic, I killed coccadicium with dying only a few times, before I gave up on swords altogether and incinerated it from afar (yes, that's where my talents went, in case you wonder).
Flash said:I can't say which mod is harder - FCR or Flash Mod. It's hard to compare difficulties because FCR is like another game, not The Witcher we know. FCR is aimed to be more realistic so you can kill humans with 2 hits but you can die as easy as them. Dexterity is most important. Enemy accuracy is set to vary between 15-35% depending on class type (weak, normal, elite, boss, elite boss). It's 15-35% with optimal character development when you first meet that particular enemy. Blizzard decrease enemy accuracy by another 10%, pain and bleeding by 5% each. You end up like a witcher in books - a duel master, unbeatable by humans in swordfight but when you fight monsters or you are surrounded you can die easily and extremely fast. Even the best blademasters die when backstabbed. Only monsters and skilled humans will hit you in solo battle, but when attacked from the flank or from behind every opponent gets +50% bonus to accuracy. It's a sudden death. Mobility, blizzard, good use of signs is crucial. You will be rewarded by killing most enemies with 1 or 2 attacks. Fights are extremely fast and dynamic. Specialised sign user will deal extreme damage with Igni. 75 base damage + value dependend on enemy max health and sign intensity, could be even >100 damage while the strongest non-boss humans have around 90 hp... Aard is very useful even without critical effects. By using aard you gain few seconds to attack. Enough for 1-2 attacks and that's all what's needed to kill with FCR mod.Remember to read bestiary, recipies and tutorials. Only from there you can learn for example that you won't hit a specter without specter oil...Oh, and check The Witcher folder. You'll find excel chart with detailed enemy parameters, weapons, armors and damage calculator.
That's no problem. I'm open for all suggestions but not everything can be brought to life.I had 3 testers. Nobody reported a problem with fleder in act 2. I'll consider giving a recipe for vampire oil in act 2 if it's necessary. The Polish text is critical hit.Hmm, and I thought that watching how the life in the wilderness goes is interesting, how monsters kill themselves, how bloedzuigers became a walking bombs . About the wiverns... next day they are back.Flauschi said:I didn't want to excoriate you, i appologize if you took this personal I think you figured out a way to make it more realistic but still playable. I only want to help. Ie to get to Raimunds corps you need to kill that Fleder, the Talisman alone won't help as the Fleder won't leave the room so you can loot the corps. So what's the text saying i still wonder ;D Something new I wonder about are the bloedzuigers. I saw 3 wyverns fighting some drowners and bloedzuigers and after one bloedzuiger died, everyone else died too in the explosion. As Harvall isn't as good as in Vanilla it might not matter, but after that it was really easy getting it because of all the wyverns were gone. (So I really miss those exp because I hate grinding and tho every bit is needed) Nothing that really matters, but making the wyverns immun to acid would help i guess
It's because this text doesn't come from language files but from the script. Scripts are universal, independent from language selection. I'll fix it in next version by adding an option in installer which language script you choose.Flauschi said:Still I wonder why these are polish and i still don't know what they mean tho, clearfication would be nice
Ghouls are supposed to be tougher than human soldiers and they are. You need to fight 1v1 with good use of signs and their free powerups like focus stones etc.DelightfulMcCoy said:where a simple ghoul kills you easily even though he's supposed to not even be able to touch you if you do your combos right.
It's vampire oil. Probably there's still unchanged oil name in the formula. You can get argentia oil as usual from The Book of the Kiss.Ravens armor don't differ now. I thought player shouldn't get better or worse reward in form of Raven Armor depending on the path they choose in the game. Neutral, Order or Elves, all give equal armor.xalien said:And speaking of vampire oil, I've got a book from the scientist guy in trading quarter after debating Kalksteins "Metamorphoses" and it has a formula of brown oil, but it says that it gives bonus against vampires, not the old good bleeding one - kinda confused what does it actually do.
I'll give an option in installer to disable flaming sword icons in next version of the mod and that would be ... tommorowLicaonKter said:since the new Medium FCR is the old Hard mode, how do i disable the flaming sword icon for medium difficulty ?
Yes, you have to unistall Flash mod before installing FCR but in my mods nothing have to be done manually. Go control panel -> add/remove programs and remove Flash mod automatically. FCR is not easier nor harder than Flash mod. It's so different that I can't really compare difficulties. Read this post for more informations. Mod is 100% ready and available to download, I'll only improve English translation (most of which use sentences from original The Witcher translation :whatthe and fix one little bug.1. There's also "Works only with Fast Styles" which means it adds 10% chance to knockdown with swords... Yes I see that it's not very clear, I'll fix it.2. I'll look into it but not sure if anything can be done about it.3. Yes, I know about this bug. It's some gap in game. No idea why it's working this way, it should work correctly.4. The monsters info you get is always the same so if you already know everything about these monsters you get nothing from the talent.. wait.. you would get nothing in original game but now you also get +1 dmg for this cheap talent 5. OK, got it.6. I'll fix it7. Look for my reply to DanConnors's post at the top.8. I'll fix it. These are remains from original descriptions..DanConnors said:I'm anxious to try the new mod., but I have a few questions. Did you say I'd have to manually uninstall the original Flash mod? Since XP's for more powerful monsters (graviers, fleders, etc.) are being lowered, will the fights now be easier? Finally, as I type this, it's now July 8 in the evening, so is it actually ready?
Not, if you are still in act 3 or 4.DivADD, actually I don't think you are hitting echinops at all with the torch. The game consider damage lower than zero as automatic miss and you can't ignite anything if you miss it. Echinops has too strong armor to be hit with the torch. I'll give the torche full armor penetration in next version of the mod.The sword sharpen with grindstone and igni sign is the way to deal with echinopses in act 1.DelightfulMcCoy said:
Bug confirmed. It should be easy to fix. During the testing I've fixed the bug when drinking Cat potion and having it expired permanently turned off properly working nightvision talent. Didn't know that the talent can be broken the other way around - not by buying talent, then drinking Cat but by drinking Cat, then buying talent :hmmm:.I'll wait with next version of the mod to fix the problem because soon there will be another great addition to the mod but it's not ready yet . In the meantime just don't buy the talent while under the effect of Cat potion. If you already did, load previous savegame or remove the talent with savegame editor and apply it again manually in game.xalien said:Yeah, it's a brand new game, uninstalled the Flash mod and everything. Could it be because I took it while Cat was still active and when it expired it turned it off?
