2.1 Can not load any save game.

Originally, I updated to the latest version of Cyberpunk.
When trying to load my last save, the game would CTD when pressing 'B'/space.

• I tried lowering graphics settings. - no resolution.
• I defaulted all options/settings. - no resolution.
• I updated every driver possible on my PC. - no resolution.
• I decided to fresh install. - no resolution.

These are the latest actions I last took to produce the crash:

1. Uninstall Cyberpunk.
2. Download Cyberpunk.
3. Reinstall Cyberpunk.
   • Steam.
   • Latest game version (2.1).
   • ALL PC drivers are updated to latest versions.
4. Start game.
5. Arrive at Main Menu
6. Begin new game.
   • Absolutely no mods.
   • All settings are default/original and have not been modified in ay way.
   • Finish character creation with randomized avatar.
   • Arrive at beginning location of game.
7. GAME SUCCESSFULLY LOADS.
   • (original/default settings/options.)
8. Immediately load last save game.
   • Game save created using patch 2.0 a few months ago.
9. The loading bar will fill.
10. I can press 'B'/space.
    Game Crashes to Desktop.

Alternatively:

1. Start game.
   • Steam.
   • Latest game version (2.1).
   • ALL PC drivers are updated to latest versions.
2. Arrive at Main Menu.
3. Immediately load my last save.
   • Absolutely no mods.
   • All settings are default/original and have not been modified in ay way.
   • Game save created using patch 2.0 a few months ago.
   • Or load any save.
4. The loading bar will fill.
5. I can press 'B'/space.
   Game Crashes to Desktop.

Replaying the game from a new save seems extremely tedious. (would be maybe my 7th playthrough)

Why can I not use my save game from before the 2.1 patch?

• I am posting here, in an attempt to locate anyone else that has encountered this issue, and has found a solution.
• I have submitted a ticket to the Official Tech Support Website.
  • (Apparently they are under a heavy load in response to the 2.1 patch.)

can you share you save? I might try to load it to see if it's save issue or not.

Just to be sure, on the saves you try to load, you never used mods?
If mods were activated even once on these saves, well there is a possibility that mod datas which remain in your save files cause the game to crash.
If not, quite weird

I had roughly the same issue, reloading a savefile caused ctd almost everytime and even on startup. the stacktrace error was the same as yours

What fixed it for me was updating the BIOS and the CPU/motherboard drivers. Try to see if your drivers are outdated

I have the exact same issue lol the only big difference is I'm on xbox series x and this is a pure save no mods etc. I am unable to load any saves from 2.0. I can start a new game and create a new character etc all the good stuff. But any save that's 2.0 will not load and boots me right back the Xbox home screen and I've reached out to tech support there are under heavy volume and I also reached out to Microsoft.


Microsoft are aware of the issue apparently and others when it comes to Cyberpunk2077. There was nothing Microsoft can do for me after we tried every step. Also CDPR tech support we also tried everything they told me to do as well. I have a PS5 and Cyberpunk2077 but I am definitely not going to buy PL until this horrible bug gets sorted out. I am so confused as to why something like this could happen but maybe I shouldn't be because such a massive overhaul of a game is bound to have issues. I hope a patch can come quick to help us affected get our characters back.
