So being realistic about the fact that this will be an IDEAL roadmap for what the fixes and said roadmap should look like for me. Although utopic I won't presume to try and guess dates for this roadmap, just the order in which it would make sense the game was being polished.
Step 1 - performance optimization and bug fixes on all platforms. Specific optimizations for the platform (so if you must reduce npc count on base xbox the PC version wouldn't be affected by it).
I'm playing on the ps4 pro and when I talk about bugs and performance fix I mean more than removing distracting floating cellphones and such visual annoyances.
I'm on my second playthrough, I think I'll need to delete this save. As I did some times on my 1st (across multiple patches) because at some point, for triggers I don't know, the save file seems to get corrupted. Not corrupted in the sense that was fixed already but the fps dip more, more visual glitches, everything more. Once I realized this started happening in the last minutes I reloaded a save from 2 hours before and it was much better. So this fragility that makes me tiptoe while playing the game is what bothers me the most. Not just tiptoe but constantly checking if it is ok. Completely ruins any feeling of let's burn this city to the ground. No, let's keep it patched somehow.
Step 2 - improve open world interactivity.
Once the base game as is is stable it would be the time to implement features to the open world before considering story add-ons. There are multiple suggestions already out there focusing on customization, romance and flings activities, side activities, world objects interaction and npc interaction/AI. I would leave the choices of what to implement here to CDPR as they are great game developers and mentioned all of these prior to launch so they know what would be awsome, just couldn't deliver for one reason or a thousand. The goal here would be to actually increase fun while playing and replayability down the line. If we roleplay our character we need an interactive stage to play one character different from the other. Open world elements can do this easier than branching story missions that affect latter missions.
Step 3 - branching story missions that affect the one and latter missions. Also more influence from the chosen lifepath to create something similar to different personalities on V that can shift around if you take, for example, "Nomadic" attitudes after a Corpo background. Also influenced by Johnny' integration to V's brain.
The most utopic of them all. First of all since it would make all the player saves out there obsolete, so I don't know if they can even do that, as someone mentioned on this forum already. I wouldn't mind it at all, already had to restart so many times... it could be introduced as a new game mode - "choices matter"? Second of all because of all the work obviously.
This roadmap would also replace the DLC/Expansion logic to something more fitting of what CP needs, different from Witcher 3.
Having said all this, I think it's clear I love the fundamentals of this game as well as what I came to learn about Mike Pondsmith's universe (big thanks to the streamer Madqueen for the knowledge) and it's because I care that I come back to the forums and the game.
I wish my best to the developers and finish with a suggestion to CDPR, a game developer company that I truly believe wants to create the best things possible but it ain't easy, the big staff increase in a short span, different team hierarchies that need to coordinate,...: how about the top management start doing like an internship with the company developers. Let's say, for 1 year, so many hours a week they are interns of the developers so they trully learn what is involved in the making of a game. Specially management that will meet with investors would benefit from this knowledge. And it would go hand in hand with a company wanting to be the best it can be.
Stay healthy everyone.
