Boxing Is Actually Fun

Then add in his lunge kicks and spin attack while you just do those puny punches. I recall spending over 100k on those arms. I shouldn't have to spend a ridiculous amount of credits just to do 1 quest. Then that quest is horriblely designed, which it clearly is. It's just another fail for the game

I strongly have to disagree OP but I am glad someone has enjoyed it..
With 4 in body, i can't said i like melee fight, but with the appropriate equipment and a little technique, it's easy to do that's all ;)

Since 1.2, it's alf price.
Rare and epic ones cost even less (no need legendary directly).
And it's also the reason why CDPR have removed all the free arm's cyberwares in the game in 1.2 (too soon, too weak).

its a quest for people with a certain playstyle, I wish they had more stuff like that in game, or expanded it more. For me it was one of the most entertaining side quests.

I don't think every quest should be made to be done with no investment.

I think they should try to make something like kickboxing in FPP in future. Knocking someone via FPP highkick would be refreshing. Also it's Cyberpunk, highkick, frontkicks, even low kicks should be thing here. Hand combat could be more complex.

Remember Witcher 1, 2, and 3 's fist fighting? They were not that great to me, but here in CyberPunk 2077 I think CDPR are on to something. The boxing quests are engaging, the characters have different scenarios and rewards. I looked forward to each fight, as I knew it would be interesting. The fights can be challenging even with Gorilla arms ( although I was not fully spec'd out for melee). It's the same sort of premise dodge, block, heavy attack, Jab combos, but CyberPunk does it better somehow. It's not that bad, not perfect.

Also Viktor shows up happy and proud in your final fight, which made me happy. I hope we get more of this kind of quests in CP2077, because they did a good job this time around with the boxing missions and I want more of this kind of stuff.
I Respect your opinion, but i'd rather be smashed around by a Troll in Wild Hunt. Putting my privates through a cheese grater is more satisfying than this.

I had tons of fun fist fighting both in the ring and in the streets. Gorilla arms are a ton of fun.

Boxing isn't perfect in this game, but most games hardly do fist fighting any cool justice. No uppercuts, hammer fists, hay makers, or feints. If these techniques or other techniques are in the game it's only kill animations. Though funny enough... I can overlook that... cyberpunk is the future. Shooting is all the rage. Knifes too for stabby stabby time.

I really like how the perfect timing block feels like an actual block. Your opponent reaches out to pinch you, you extend your arms out and deflect the punch to the side. Blocks shouldn't be simply holding your arms up and taking hits yo your arms as opposed to your face/torso. A good block pushes attacks away from your body. If you apply enthusiasm in your block, it hurts or even leaves a bruise on your opponent... Unless your opponent has cyberneticly enhanced prosthetic arms...

I don't even know why I'm ranting. Regardless how realistic the boxing is... I've had a lot of fun. I kinda hate the fact that you block with both arms. One arm is all you need to sufficiently stop a punch or even a kick. Step to the side or step back a little and give that arm or leg a good firm block/smack. Again... I can overlook this as well. No biggy.

For me, when I played as a netrunner it wasn't fun... until I bought shock-and-awe cyberware and gorilla arms. I ate, drank and took stamina and health boosters before every fight(so you could say I was cheating xD) and it was super easy, like 2-3 hits and even if he take half of my health there is a high chance for shock and awe to make emp explosion and the fighter is gone. :ROFLMAO:

Also, kinda funny that these boxing quests are harder than the final boss:LOL:

This game has some balancing issues.
hey look this guy I want him tested ...what all is this gonk eating?! juiced up ...knuckle freak...jj o_O

How are fights ment to be fun, when they can hit you, even though you can see their first or foot aren't close to hitting you. That they take you out with 2 hits, while you have to hit them about 100 times. I don't see how this is ment to be fun or good gameplay. The logical conclusion is that they only testet the fights with a maxed out brawler build and didn't want the fights to be fun. Hours just for one fight....! Not good game design

I liked beating up that 6th street gang vet.

I didn't even need his gun, just wanted to take it because he's 6th street gang. Then they altogether gave me the bonus - take them all out, and not even have to chase them. They all came at me.
I use a mod that makes takedowns non-lethal, still enjoyed that one all the same. Yes, it can be fun.

No they're not. They're crap and not realistic. From V being able to take on Razor looking like a stick.
You've obviously never played Mike Tyson's punch out for NES.

You're playing little Mac who's a weak puncher who takes like 100 punches to knock down Mike Tyson, who can 1 punch you to KO until 1:30 timer.
Is that realistic for a little weakling to be able to do that? Sometimes people have to take away the realism in order to allow some power play.

You don't have to start out new character with 30 body stat in order to compete in boxing ring.

I agree that there's some work that could be done to improve on boxing. Maybe cutting stat requirements a little by putting on the boxing gloves to soften impact of blows, and then cutting the health etc, trying to add a little bit more strategy on combat, having briefings on each enemy and ways to signal different times and places to block attacks and give attacks.

I think it would be pretty welcome to add 1 additional attack method on top of just basic attack / strong attack / block attack.

If you look at games like World of Warcraft, there was always new abilities being discovered from talents that enabled some unique tricks, but in Cyberpunk the only new ability is basically tackling down opponents if you manage to surprise them from above.

Yeah the street brawler and blades skill trees could have some unlockable moves, like a 360° attack or dash forward attack...

mantis blades have a power lunge attack ...sometimes decapitates ,sometimes chest impales...believe it depends on point of aim

Defeating Rhino seems impossible without having a brawler build or cheating. If i do well, the game will find a way to make me lose. She glithces around, especialy when she does her jump attack. Or her attacks hitting me, even though i'm no where near her, and can see them go past me. I tried that shock-and-awe implant, but it dosen't seem to trigger. Again, i can proberly give it a million tries, before it triggers, since she defeat you in 2 hits. So poorly designed. Clearly no testing was done

Kerensikov is the key (for me) whatever the rarity ;)
(it's intentional that V talk about it to Fred at the start)
Slowing time when blocking for avoid her (strong) attack, and 1 or 2 strong attacks on her back after that (no more otherwise she counter-attacks).
And repeat :)
Easy with my stealth Netrunner build (only 4 in body) and just legendary gorilla arms (with Animals knuckles).

I do dodge, yet she is still able to hit me. I should have to buy every single mod, implant in the game, just for 1 fight. I do have legendary Gorilla arms, with Knuckles - electrical damage.
This is proberly some of the worst gaming experience i have had.
And the game has startet doing this ridicules thing, when i get to close to the ladder, i grab on to it. That thing should just be disabled doing the fight. I has just caused me to get hit, which means the match is pretty much lost for me

Really wished I was attacked by Mantis Blades, defending against them makes sparks shoot out from my arms, which have to then be repaired by a ripperdoc. Loved the boxing mechanic it's always fun.

No need to buy it, you can acquire uncommon Kerenzikov in NCPD Assault or 2 rares ones in Cyberpsycho Sitting in Badlands-north (the nomad with the heavy Militeck armor).
It's quite important, because you go way much further by slowing down time. So she can't punch you at all. Best of all, you can easily avoid the ladder :)

And Animals Knuckles are better than other due to their Bleeding effect. (Available to Charter Hill ripperdoc) ;)
Little question, what is your level ?
Because Gorilla arms are leveled, so highter you are, more damage they deal. For me, I never doing Beat on the brat before level 40 for that reason. In very hard, with few mods crit chance and crit damage on my clothes, with 4/5 strong attacks she's down.
(the twins, one punch for each and that's finish)

To be even more powerful, you can add a mod who increase crit damage (+30%) to your gorilla arms (less than 500 eddies) and/or buy head cyberware to add even more crit damage.
