Just confirmed with Short Circuit, uploaded after Sonic Shock.

Jesus Christ................................

I just tested this and can confirm, they've basically entirely destroyed a stealth Netrunner now. Wonderful...

Not destroyed. Nerfed... greatly. You can still handle stealth with a 4th-level Memory Wipe.

But it is pretty much no-go if you have only access to 3rd-level quickhacks.

With that said, even if it was per design, I do not understand what is the actual benefit of using Sonic Shock now.

Yeah, that's exactly why I asked whether it is intended or not because now we will be stuck with an entirely useless quickhack and an already garbage quickhack if this is intended.

Memory Wipe is by all means an anti-trace quickhack, but the problem is that just like Sonic Shock its purpose is primarily to avoid tracing.

Yet the quickhack itself is so stupidly designed because;
  • T3 is actually Reboot Optics supposed to also reduce tracing progress... BUT WAIT!
  • T4 invalidates T3 because nothing can be traced after it, so what is the point of T3 now... BUT WAIT!
  • T5 invalidates T4 and T3 because of its absurdly ridiculous RAM which completely shifts it from being an anti-trace quickhack to instead become a mega ultimate combat reset quickhack ???????
So they gave a stealth quickhack which does not trigger tracing a perk to reduce tracing progress and then to completely piss all over it they turn it into a combat reset quickhack so you can only use it once due to its ridiculous RAM cost, when its entire purpose is to avoid trace...

A better way for this perk to actually be designed would be;
  • T3 - Quickhacks cannot be traced after Memory Wipe
  • T4 - An alerted enemy will reset back to unalerted status
  • T5 - Disrupts the entire local enemy network to prevent enemies from tracing you
Then it would make some damn sense for it to cost 32 RAM all of a sudden.

Chill guys, it is just a graphical error.

Just tested it and can confirm that if you wait till progress is filled to 100% NOONE will detect you.

You can still play stealth netrunner but till this bug is fixed it will be hard to understand whether you are really being tracked or not.

Not sure what was your case, but I am playing for a few hours now using quickhacks after sonic shok tier 5 and even thou detection bar reaches 100% had no issues with detection.

Tested it out 3 times and entered combat every time. Think its more than just a graphical glitch. I hope its a bug bc it compmetely negates the stealth runner build and the Sonic shock quickhack.

Well, until an official fix comes (I hope so since they're aware of it) here's a mod

@Rdx_v
Thanks a lot for the information. I personally don't use mods, so I will (have to) wait until an official fix comes up.
Or the information that these changes were intended? (You'll never know...)
Meanwhile I am wearing now a "mask" that speeds up the upload of quickhacks by 15% (instead of +7% invisibility), which helps killing more enemies before being traced.
"Memory Wipe" is definitely no option because it needs 32 (?) ram.

But to be honest my only actions ingame atm are playing the arcade game or sometimes doing a car job.
As long as SHOOTING and AIMING isn't working too, I don't feel the need for more action.
Or better don't play before playing with bugs! :rolleyes:

Memory Wipe Tier 4 costs 10 points and does the same as Sonic Shock Tier 3 with a cost of 4 points (2.5 times less) and that is how it should be?

Of course not, this is not a bug, there are no words about tracing in Sonic Shock description, this has just made Memory Wipe to be useful
