After phase 1 is finished, calling Jackie's number allows the player to leave messages for Jackie, even though he won't get them. It's a great addition to the game in my opinion and I was grateful to stumble onto it.
However there is 1 issue which makes me laugh, if you call Jackie's phone to leave a message about some big new mission you just pulled off, because yes you can continually update Jackie which is heartwarming, and then get into combat; the call will end abruptly until combat is finished... at which point Jackie will call you back and you'll have to answer lol, and say "Hey what were we talking about?". You'll then continue on the story you were just telling, but I thought it was a bit out of place for Jackie to be calling you back when it was just a message being left on an out-of-service phone number in game.
