Cannot challenge a friend

I'm playing on PC with GOG, and my friend is on iOS. When either of us challenges the other to a match, we get a pop-up in the upper-righthand corner saying "Failed to create invite". Is friend match between iOS and PC not possible?

I am also having this issue trying to challenge a friend.

However mine is saying "friend cancelled invite".

We both tried restarting clients and inviting both ways and we couldn't get it to work.

I'd recommend installing the latest patch first, though. And maybe check out your GOG privacy settings and make sure messages are not blocked there.
