Can't start the game because of damaged archives

+
Hello everyone,
I own and play Cyberpunk via the GOG Launcher. The game also works fantastically (if it works right away). For a few weeks now, every time I restart the game, I get the error message that some archives are corrupted and the game needs to either be repaired or reinstalled.

"Error reason: Assert
Expression: asyncHandle != io::INVALID_FILE_HANDLE
Message: Could not open archive C:\Program Files\Cyberpunk 2077\Cyberpunk 2077\archive\pc\content\lang_fr_text.archive for async reading of contents
File: E:\R6.Release\dev\src\common\resource\src\resourceGameDepot.cpp(612)"

If I delete the mentioned file and verify the game files via the launcher, another archive in the folder is immediately affected and is reported in the error code and it looks like this:

"Error reason: Assert
Expression: asyncHandle != io::INVALID_FILE_HANDLE
Message: Could not open archive C:\Program Files\Cyberpunk 2077\Cyberpunk 2077\archive\pc\content\lang_ua_text.archive for async reading of contents
File: E:\R6.Release\dev\src\common\resource\src\resourceGameDepot.cpp(612)"

If I delete all the folder's archives and then re-download it doesn't make any difference either. The only option is a complete reinstallation after each restart of the game! It should be noted: I play without mods and have never played with mods. Is there any solution for this problem?

Kind regards

That's a weird one.

Do you have an anti-virus? If so, verify the game, be certain everything is fine. Personally, I'd go a step further and perform a clean install of the game. Just to be sure. Then turn off your AV and start the game and then try re-creating your problem. I've seen overly aggressive AVs make changes to files.

You say "for a few weeks now", so this wasn't an issue a few weeks ago? Can you think of anything that changed at that time? Any change you made? Installed anything?

If you haven't already, try reaching out to CDPR's support:

Technical Support — CD PROJEKT RED

In the meantime I had uninstalled Cyberpunk for a few months. The problems are occurring since I reinstalled the game.

The only AV I use is Windows Defender, which comes with Windows. Windows Defender is configuered with factory settings. Cyberpunk had no problems with this before.

When you uninstalled it all those months ago, did you simply uninstall through GOG or did you scrub your system from all files like the clean install link I provided indicates?

If you didn't perform a clean install, I'd suggest doing that. I'm wondering if you're not carrying over some files from previous installs that are causing issues. Note that a file integrity verification would not necessarily catch those. Scrub your system of any and all CP2077 files. Then re-install. If that doesn't do it, reach out to CDPR because this is a really weird one.

I'd already performed a clean install as suggested by the CDPR website. I think I'll reach out to the CDPR support, if the problem still persists after another complete and clean reinstallation.
Thank you for your help :)
