I used it in Skellige deck and noticed that most often it spawned Lippy or Ermion for me. Often to the extent that is was noticeable and I started to question the random generator.

My experience is that Gwent doesn't have a functional random anything
Only played it once in a NR Pincer Manuver Deck where i secured a first round win with the Siege Scenario and planned on using Gaunter in a long third round, he ended up only giving me crap like 2 times a Kiyan, I don't think running Gaunter outside of Arena Mode is worth it.
