Had the same crashing issues I'm seeing in many posts here. Fixed the problem by downloading all available patches in the extras area. Then selecting the button to the right of the play button, and clicking manage installation, then verify and repair. It automatically then went into an approximately 30 GB download after a few minutes. Game runs as it did before, and Mods still work too when opening it through Vortex. I have not yet tried to open the game through GOG.
