Cyberpunk 2077 - Your Ideas For A Dream RPG

Presentation like Satellite Reign. With either isometric or topdown perspective.

Talking heads like the original Fallouts, but made with current tech. Interactive FPP sections in places like bars and kiosks.

Open storyline with a narrative drive, progression, reactivity and conclusion like the original Fallouts (initial motivation and some kind of a "goal" is given, the rest is completely up to the player, the players journey with the actions he chooses tells the story, not the writers at the studio -- which is to say, the story progression is little dictated as possible).

Highly character driven gameplay with character systems as close to 2020 as possible (RNG checks included where the skill/stat combot doesn't surpass the difficulty, or where the skill/stat/d10 combo can't reach the difficulty level).

World/item/object/NPC interaction and reactivity in a high priority. From mundane to the very important.

Turnbased combat that focuses more on relatively fast and deadly situations rather than longwinded strategic scenarios.

Something like that'd make my day.

My ideal cyberpunk RPG: Fallout NV partecipate to an orgy with deus ex HR, CP2077 demo and red dead redemption 2.

Fallout NV: character creation and RPG mechanics.
CP2077: I liked the style and the dialogue system (but I'd like to see as many options as in Fallout NV). Fast action combat system FTW
deus ex HR: inventory and realistic approach
RDR2: attention to details, animations and realistic approach

Perspective: TPP or FPP, I don't really care but it needs to be done right: animations and attention to details like RDR2 (or atomic heart's last video). You do something? A quick animation is there, no "floating camera" effect. Picking items up, interacting with the world, pushing buttons, opening doors... 1 second traded with immersion, no one would complain if the animation is fast enough.

Character creation: you start with sliders for the body type which influence your physical stats. A lot of muscle equals to a lot of strenght, a lot of fat equals to little agility. Then you select stats with values going from 1 to 8. 9 and 10 are for "super humans" and can be achieved only via cyberware. i.e. 1/10 in strenght you are anorexic, 4/10 normal human being, 8/10 the limit of human possibilities (think bjornsson, the actor for the mountain from game of thrones), 10/10 you lift cars above your head (cyberware is needed). Intelligence: 1/10 complete idiot, 8/10 einstein, 10/10 you are as fast as a super computer (yeah, I know we're smarter than PCs, you know what I mean). Once you select your stats with a fixed number of points, the only way to increase those is via cyberware (cyberware is limited by humanity points so that you can't become a master of all trades). Stats influence active and passive perks: a lot of strenght gives you bonus to melee weapons and abilities such as moving heavy objects (think jackie moving cars or immersive-sims). How you use your perks is up to you.

Game mechanics:
-RPG, role-playing game. Once you have created your character, you are immersed in a cyberpunk world/story but in a very realistic way. Every NPC has the same HP (i.e. 100 HP) which can be "increased" only using protection ("disposable" bulletproof jackets or skin wave cyberware). Numbers are hidden (REALISTIC), but of course are present in the game. Different weapons deal different damage, but a normal gun "removes", let's say, 25 HP with a bullet in the body, 100 HP in the head. 4 bullets and a normal NPC is dead. Hit boxes are done right and the Euphoria Engine (GTA 4->RDR2) is used to manage collisions. Stats influence your character's skills, but if you -as a player- are good enough to aim and take the right decisions in real time, you are awarded by the game. No RNG.
-Inventory is a mix between RDR2 and Deus ex HR: you can bring with you a limited number of weapons (let's say 2 light weapons such as a revolver and 2 heavy weapons such as automatic or sniper rifle) and some granades, plus you have some room for crafting junk. But not too much, the game is not a looter shooter, we don't spend half of the time looting, the core is role-play via decisions.
-Gear is not level gated, no epic/legendary bullshit. Every item has its own characteristic, but every model1 shotgun has the same characteristics of all the model1 shotguns. As in real life, weapons are mass produced. In this game you don't need to change your weapon every 2 seconds unless you want to change your style (an automatic rifle gives you a different play-style compared to a shotgun or a katana). Same for clothing/armors. As I said, this is not a looter shooter (destiny, anthem), but a realistic RPG. Reducing the number of equipment, giving it fixed numbers, balancing is easier for devs as well.
-Levels don't exist in the game. Realistic RPG. Levels don't exist IRL. Progression is given by equipment and cyberware (gated only by money and street creds), enemies are classified in archetypes.
E.g. from weaker to stronger
normal gang goon: uses normal guns and just basic cyberware. killable with few bullets or 1 headshot
advanced gang goon: uses advanced weapons and cyberware (double jump, bulletproof vest)
policeman: police weapons, bulletproof vest, cyberware, advanced AI (works in groups as a team)
super advanced gang goon: uses a lot of cyberware (double jump, super fast, bulletproof skin, X-rays vision)
soldier: uses super advanced weapons and military grade cyberware, advanced AI. Bullet spongy to some exent (heavy armored)
corpo agents: corpo weapons and A LOT of cyberware. trauma team and milithech agents seen at the end of the demo
borgs: almost unhumans, they use special techinques according to their specs. need special equipments to be killed (EMP weapons or high penetration ammo)

[...]

Bosses: unique enemies with specal abilities and moveset. Some gimmick boss fight is appreciated (you need to hit royce in his weak point and destroy his shield befre you can kill him). If they're a little bullet spongy it's fine as long as justified. One-shot killing them will be anticlimatic.

According to its faction, each archetype has different abilities (e.g. maelstrom uses mainly cyberware, militech focuses on weapons)
-street creds work as reputation, the more you get the more vendors/fixers you unlock. You complete quests, you become more famous, big fish contact you for other quests. You make money and you can buy weapons/cyberware becoming stronger, in this way you can defeat stronger enemies (i.e. corpo agents or borgs) which were too strong for you before due to their gear (high-end weapons, x-ray vision, EMP granades, mantis blades...). Thanks to this system, quests are unlocked at the right time (we won't see hattori waiting for geralt at the docks for 40 hours until he reaches level 25 and can help him without being raped by few random bandits)(RDR2 does this perfectly).
-cyberware gives you real abilities: super jump, x-ray/thermal vision, scanner, mantis blades, ability to use auto-lock with smart guns, super speed, super strenght, less recoil/better aiming, skin wave (more "HP"), bullet time...
-hacking is done via mini-games (think deus ex HR) but your stat influence how easy it is for you to solve it (more time, more chances...). Same for crafting and other possible activities.

I may add other things if they'll come to my mind

A nasty torture and death scene.

V gets captured and strapped to a chair. They gouge V's face and eyes out. However, because this is a cyberpunk world, at least one of V's eyes is kept online and placed infront of him. So now, both V and the player can see how horribly they torture him in third person. It lasts for days. They use drugs and other augmented tech to increase the pain and suffering. V hasn't slept the entire time and cannot even fall unconscious. He's aware of everything. His situation is hopeless. It's the end of the road unless you have close friends who suddently break in and rescue V.

Players won't stop asking about Cyberpunk 2077 not having 3rd person experience? Then I say give them the third person experience. Give them what they asked for.

I'm more than fine with first person perspective, thanks

I hope we dont die like the witcher, since its fpp i want to hit the ground,
to see blood and eyes slowly closing, depends on how we die ofcourse

ahahah it would be awesome, even with some "pixelation" effect like when you use the ability Kerenzikov ^^

Hi,
Some of you might know that Microsoft has announced that mouse and keyboard is availiable to use in games on Xbox One,... if the developer decides to implement this into their product. So my question is: Could you please implement mouse and keyboard support in Cyberpunk 2077 for Xbox One?
Best regards.

I definitely hope that cyberpunk 2077 allows you to customize your player as much as possible, from skin color to gender. Just because of today's climate.

Agreed, my biggest hope is for customization of character editing at the start, and clothing/ appearance customization thereafter to boggle my mind with awesomeness. #Hoping4ExoticFashion

gender are options
well, they should add the option to make voice not bound to male and female body-type and the possibility to add beard on a female face like in the last far cry. I personally couldn't care less, but nowadays the people interested in this are very loud on social media (right or wrong is not a subject allowed on this forum). CDPR was already "in trouble" for a joke on twitter few months ago, I think it could be a smart move to avoid these problems and make everybody happy with a small effort.

There is the other side of that fence too ready to call out on cowering in front of the new age ”progressive” social media mob. Just saying...

They should just do what they see fit for their game without wondering who’s going to get offended on Twitter for not getting pampered.

I don't see how a transgender (or whatever LGBTQ+) option would ruin a cyberpunk setting (we had them in the '80s as well, of course), but from a pure "marketing/public opinion" perspective is better to be accused of being a SJW than trans/xenophobic.

I agree on the fact they shouldn't change their view of the game and go for a SJW "at any cost" game (as other companies recently did), but giving the option to role-play whoever you want (from a LGBTQ+ character to a neo-nazi) should be considered a good thing, IMHO.

You guys should put Alita: battle angel in the game, as like a skin for V or maybe a dlc playable character. I would pay money to see that

CDPR can't "officially" do that without a license. But if MOD support does end up becoming available post release, such things *may* end up being possible via the community. CDPR knows a lot of people want MOD support, but it's unconfirmed at this point.

Another way to possibly get similar results (visually, if not gameplay) is via character customization options. But we really don't know how extensive those options will be.

Hey,
I'm sure it has been asked for, but I hope there will be casino's and gambling maybe even illegal betting on races or sports like boxing etc.

I bet the mods could answer that. I've seen discussions on investing in markets but not casinos/gambling/betting.
