Cyberpunk2077 - Phantom Liberty Crashes again and again

+
on 02.10.2023 I received a reply from Falran GOG.COM | Technical Customer Support Specialist.
With a list of things to do, everything I was advised to do I did but Cyberpunk2077-Phantom Liberty still crashes.

here are the things i did:

1.I opened the GOG Galaxy app and used the repair for Cyberpunk2077 - Phantom Liberty unfortunately without success.

2. i have installed 2010 DirectX Runtime.

3. i don't use Nahimic Premium sound driver.

4. i have closed all software that uses an overlay.
(I only use MSI Afterburner which has never caused any problems but I have closed it as it was recommended).

I have already deleted and reinstalled GOG Galaxy App and Cyberpunk2077 2 times. And I have added exception/trust list to my antivirus/firewall software as requested.

I have installed Microsoft Visual C++ 2019 Redistributable.
and I also have Microsoft Visual C++2015-2022 - Microsoft Visual C++2013 - Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 - Microsoft Visual C++ 2013 On my PC.

7. I have also activated DirectPlay.

8. my NVIDIA GeFroce 537.42 drivers are up to date and so is Windows11.
I used the Display Driver Uninstaller to uninstall the graphics card drivers from Windows11 in safe mode and then reinstalled them.

None of this has helped, because Cyberpun2077 - Phantom Liberty still crashes.

My problems have only started since the mission You Know My Name where I got her headgear from Lizzy Wizzy.

Since then the game always crashes. At first only when I pressed the F5 key or created a manual save point,
but now the game crashes after a few minutes just like that.

What I also don't understand is when I use the internal benchmark of Cyberpunk2077 I can do this as often as I want and the game doesn't crash.

Other games like Starfield , Witcher3 , STAR WARS Jedi - Survivor run without problems and even in 4K and with high graphics settings.

So I have the suspicion that it can only be due to Cyberpunk2077 - Phantom Liberty.
Could it possibly have something to do with my save files?
I am really desperate, and slowly also angry, because it annoys me that the game crashes over and over again after a few minutes.

please help
best regards Alex

Every video gaming media "news" outlet should be covering this. Yet, crickets.
Hello tinybham I asked for help and not and ridiculous comments.
I can't play Cyberpunk2077 for days because it keeps crashing. And that annoys me because I paid for it and when I buy something I expect it to work.
And I find it very strange that this problem only occurred after about 20 hours of playing.

as i already mentioned, i can do the internal cyberpunk2077 benchmark as often as i want without the game crashing. and all my other games work without any problems.

if you can help me i would be very happy but please no ridiculous answers.

best regards Alex

You do not mention if previous save files are also affected.

Is that the case?

If you load a save from before it all started going wrong, does it work correctly?

no I haven't tried that yet thanks for the tip, I'll test it and get back to you.

As far as I understood, your game can crash when you create a save and also "randomly" like after 4-5 minutes.
Am I right?
If yes, I don't think you mentionned it (if you did, sorry^^), but many encountered issue (especially crashes) with the cross-progression feature. So if you didn't, check if it's not enabled (enabled by default when linking you GOG account) and if it's the case, disable it.
(4/5 minutes it's pretty much the interval between each auto-save).

Try it out, if it does work, it may mean that something within your save was corrupted and you will have lost whatever progress you've made since then.

There is also what @LeKill3rFou said, the cross platform feature has been linked to various crash issues.

I also don't see if you ever used mods and I do mean ever. You might still be carrying some data from those mods ever if you did a standard re-install. You would need a clean install (as described here) to really get rid of what might be left but that would also potentially mean that all of your saves are affected and starting over may be the only way of getting through this part of the game.

thanks for your help but unfortunately it didn't help to turn off the cloud savegames so the save transfer to gog

thanks for your help i loaded an old save but unfortunately it didn't help but at least i was able to play longer than before and also turning off the cloud saves so disabling the save transfer to gog didn't help and mod i only used the no intro mod but i already deleted that and i already deleted cyberpunk2077 2 times completely so also all folders but didn't help either
seems like i have to delete cyberpunk2077 for the third time including my saves and of course all folders. To then start all over again but I have no desire to do so so I hope for a patch or that someone else has a solution for me that works.

thanks for your help

Would be useful if there's an ENglish tanslation. Not everyone here speaks Spanish.

I've been having these crashes too, PL installed but I haven't started any of the content as I'm doing a fresh game. There doesn't appear to be any pattern, the crashing is random.

Hello everyone I wanted to thank you all for your help.

Today I deleted Cyberpunk2077 for the third time and also deleted all folders
so these ones
%userprofile%\Saved Games\CD Project Red\

REDEngine folder from here %userprofile%\AppData\Local\

CD Projekt Red folder from here: %userprofile%\AppData\Local

And still all data transfers from GOG Disabled
as well as cross-platform save transfer in game under settings - gameplay disabled

Could already play 1 hour without a crash hope it stays like this ^^

Thanks for your help

Hey there, Alex!

Some time ago, I experienced significant issues with various games as they kept crashing. I tried everything, just like you, and found a solution:

  1. Press Windows + R, type “services.msc”, and press Enter.
  2. Look for “Nahimic service” or any related entry like “Nahimic“. You can press “n” to quickly locate it in the list.
  3. Right-click the entry and select Properties.
  4. In the Nahimic Service Properties window, choose Disabled under Startup type.

I was having tones of crashes as well to the point that I eventually couldn't either load the game or if it did load couldn't progress.

The only thing that has fixed it for me was disabling the Nvidia Geforce Experience in-game overlay, once I turned that off, the game runs perfectly again.
