Johnny always dies after he gets in the porche

Is this some kind of bug? I am stuck on this scene where jonny tries to escape in the car and cant go further in the game. most of the times, I wont even get the chance to draw the weapon to shoot. I tried easy difficulty but still the same, johnny always dies. Anyone has a workaround for this? Why do we have to pay for a game that is as buggy as to not be able to overcome a scene because of a bug?

I always died in "very hard", obviously. This is a bug (at least, a level scalling issue). But I switched in normal just for this part and didn't encounter any issue to finish it. I managed to do it rather easily.

It's during the car chase during "Never Fade Away" while escaping the Altantis with Rogue, Santiago and Thompson
In very hard, with the "new" level scalling system, you die in one or two bullets... Often before even get a chance to fire one yourself
