[2.12] - THE LAST BUGS STANDING - V's Mouth Doesn't Move in End Cutscenes, Mirror Scenes... and Just a Few Stragglers More

+
I think - and I certainly hope - that this is the last bug I ever report

THAT SAID, a round of applause to CDPR who have done a marathon job polishing this mammoth of a game. Just need a few more teensie, tiny, little steps to cross the finish line? Mayyybe?

Anyway, the below bug is still in 2.12 - it seems to be triggered by doing "Killing Moon". Squeeky clean 2.12 installation, fresh 2.12 test playthrough, verified/repaired, no mods ever used.

Screenshots below of affected scenes (or if you want to watch a video of this bug, you can view it on Reddit here or here).

Also, below are some other bugs mentioned elsewhere; all together I view these as
the LAST BUGS STANDING :disapprove::

- Bob initially missing from the campfire during "With a Little Help From my Friends" (he's talking at this point too) - this seems to occur if you help Bob and Mitch fix the electrics outside the tower:

- The night sky is overcast whilst stargazing with Panam during "With a Little Help From my Friends":

- TV audio is missing half the time. A fix is available for PC users on Nexus Mods ("TV Audio Fixes" by Deceptious).

- Gig: Waiting for Dodger: Bill and Charlie drive over one of Dodger's goons, causing them to attack, even if you took the peaceful route (although... this bug is pretty funny).

- Talking to Misty can block off Jackie's answering machine, so you won't be able to leave this tear-jerker of a message before your last gig :

- Johnny's AFFINITY percentage is incorrectly displaying and spoiling Phantom Liberty info despite not even starting the expansion:

There are various other minor bugs, but, to be honest, if the above gets fixed, especially the endings, I honestly think they can leave the game at that

P.s. Bugs can be reported here:

Ooft, bumping this in light of the following update:

That said, there was some new activity on SteamDB for the first time in ages, so hopefully there will be at least one more patch. Good god, please don’t let those end cutscenes remain bugged forever…

Can confirm the ending cutscene bug because it happened to me with 2.02 version, no mods installed. It was the same playthrough with The Killing Moon completed. Sad thing is that this didn't happen to me with 1.12 version which was super early. I really hope they don't drop updating games just yet because Phantom Liberty introduced several immersion-breaking bugs like this.

I mean, this is the most important moment in the game! And the only third person cutscene where we get to see V's face animated and it sucks that V's mouth doesn't even move when she talks

Edit: forgot to mention that it was The Star ending for me. Didn't try other endings with that save

Thanks for sharing. If you haven’t already, please send CDPR a support ticket with the save file. The data’s useful for them and hopefully makes it more likely we’ll see this fixed (y)

Update: I found the cause and a temp work-around for this particular bug:

It's caused by selecting this specific dialogue option:

BobbyCause.jpg

Story wise, the blue bottom dialogue is the important bit, whereas the yellow top dialogue is just about helping them fix the machinery.
If you don't select "How's it going?" then it just means Bob and Mitch will fix it themselves (Bobby will say "Need a light?" once you and Panam are inside), and the campfire scene will start correctly once you come back down.
However if you do select "How's it going?" then it'll mean Bobby will be stuck by the machinery once you and Panam leave the building, instead of at the campfire with everyone else (until he abruptly teleports in).

I hope this is before Christmas. I have a week off and would like to start using mods with god willing some new quests. But if I can mod this game back to the way I liked it on release I would even love to just play a fourth play thru.

Was there more in the update that might mean a lot of fixes?

We can't see how big it is. Only that it's been updated.

Regardless, size is not necessarily indicative of how many fixes there are.

Size would only be indicative of that... size. An update is really simply acquiring files that have been modified but if all your fixes happen only within a single file, it won't be huge update but it could still include a large numbers fixes. The opposite is true too, you could have a few fixes that required modifying multiple files that now all have to be downloaded resulting in a bigger update with a small number of fixes.

Time between updates is generally a better indicative of whether an update fixes a lot of things or not but it can also mean they're having trouble fixing stuff and it's still a small number of fixes. There is really no way to properly gauge how big an update might be. We'll have to wait for patch notes.

Yeah, I doubt this game is 'dead now' or 'not getting updates anymore', considering Steam DB thing and the IGN article about FSR3 support. Let's hope that the next update will fix major bugs, especially regarding the endings and Phantom Liberty, without breaking some other things

Bump:

Johnny's affinity percentage spoils one of the endings to Phantom Liberty even if you haven't started the expansion:
I can also confirm this because I found out by trying to complete all the relationship-related missions before starting Phantom Liberty. I think it happened when I finished Chippin' In with a rather positive relationship with Johnny for me. It didn't directly spoil the ending for me because I had no idea with what's gonna happen in PL back then, but it certainly was a bummer. I can't report this bug because I don't have the exact save file for it, but I did report the animation bug for Star ending before.
