New player need assistance....

I dont understand why cards dont work the same in the single player as multiplayer... I have wild hunt cards that in single player come back to board after a round but not in multiplayer? How am I supposed to learn the game if rules change and are not informed of those chnges?

The cards do work the same way in multiplayer. It's just that you have to understand their effect, which can indeed take some time because not everything is explained clearly.

As for the Wild Hunt Riders, they only stay on the board if you've lost the round.
