Please give us better driving now

+
hi dev team, thanks a lot for the new update. it's awesome you are giving more freedom to player expression. The painting of cars is crazy good but can we finally get a far better cockpit view for First person enjoyers for both bikes and cars? The current driving camera is very bad and we are forced to drive in third person to make it functional.

The vehicle driving is also very bad, all vehicles feel they have slipper oil all across night city. please add some wight and down force and make the vehicles planted on the ground. None of the vehicles in the real world is like this.

Kindly make these two as priority and please make the driving and traveling functional, now to avoid driving best method is to fast travel and then sprint.

It's a bit late for any major updates to the game with development finished.

However, it's very likely that driving will be improved in the sequel game given the transition from the REDengine to Unreal 5, as UE5 will have a better framework for vehicle implementation than REDengine (Which is likely something that was developed in tandem with CP2077 itself, given that CDPR's prior games had little need for simulating car physics what with being Witcher titles...)

What's wrong with the driving?

So much that the FIRST mods made for Cyberpunk 2077 were car driving settings mods. In fact I made one for my self DAY ONE on release.

🎮 Controls and Input Issues (*This almost made me stop playing until I could make it better with my mod).

*Binary input makes smooth steering and throttle control difficult; requires awkward key tapping. When you press left or right the wheels IMMEDIATELY go all the way left and/or all the way right on PC. They should have granted a delay like RL. RL it takes a few seconds to turn your steering wheel all the way!
Keyboard Driving Feels Awful
Inconsistent Sensitivity with Mouse/Controller

Sensitivity feels off, with no separate settings for driving vs. walking.

Physics and Handling

  1. Floaty or Slippery Handling
    • Vehicles often feel weightless or as if they’re sliding, especially at high speeds.
  2. Inconsistent Handling Between Vehicles
    • Some cars feel twitchy and over-responsive, others feel sluggish and hard to control.
  3. Poor Turning Radius and Oversteering
    • Sharp turns often result in understeer or overcorrection, making cornering unreliable.
  4. Unrealistic Physics Reactions
    • Small bumps or terrain changes can cause vehicles to bounce, flip, or behave erratically.

It is better now then it was on release. But the Binary input is STILL THERE and is horrific! This makes driving a chore instead of enjoyable.

I see. Have you tried all the other control schematics? Can really make a world of difference.

Oh yes it did improve things (especially compared to day one) but none of that changes the binary steering. I think GTA has the same issue. But other driving games do not so there is some way to do it. I think a simple delay (how fast it swings from left to right) would solve it. I wish I were a better mod maker but I think this is a hard code issue.

Why is it so hard to fix handling of vehicles in this game? Why when turning they spin around a point in the middle like all the wheels are turning in the opposite dirtections? Which makes them feel like we drive on ice. I'm not expecting driving simulation, but at least make it fun to drive, just a bit frustrating considering how much time of playing the game we sit behind steering wheel. There aren't any mods that do anything good, some just alter so its bad in different way but none of them is targeting the underlaying issues. Weight, grip, axis on which they turn.

I've made a mod for that but not updated for 2.0 (feel free to fork and update: RWD Overhaul for patch 1.63. i don't have time for it).
Check for the Shion (base version, not nomad), it was the car that was making me crazy and started this mod lol.
