Shooting out of the front windshield

I was watching this vid and I came across a gameplay mechanic that though minor seriously destroys immersion. It's V driving and shooting out the front windscreen of the vehicle V is in, seen from the driver seat perspective. It's as if the glass of the windscreen is non-existent. I was like, "Huh? That shouldn't be possible"

Shooting out of the front window is a quite common tactic in some situations.. should break the glass tho.

That's just it. I didn't see any signs of broken glass.

I think the windshield is already broken, there is no glass anymore (there is no reflection, absolutely nothing)

It might be that the windshield had already been completely shot previously... but if that's the case, some jagged splinters should have remained in places. Kind of how the windshield looks now when it's broken?
