I have played happily since the hotfix tonight.
Closed the game and played something else. Came back to it and tried to boot the game but caused a PC crash.
Rebooted and updated NVidia driver to the 15/12/2020 release.
Tried to play Cyberpunk 2077 and was unpleasantly surprised to see the game listed as needing to be installed without any reduction in hard drive usage.
What gives? Was just saying how I had played the game with minimal issues and it ups and "leaves"?!
So I navigated to the install folder under steam and launched the REDprelauncher application from there and the gamer launches bit of a pain and not sure what to do about my confused Steam launcher.
