Unifying patch for steam and gog versions of the game

I am not sure what led to steam version being different to gog version, or why file structures are different, but it has led to alot of hassle for mods.
Could we not get a standardised version amoungst us?
Is it a lot of work to do? or something reasonably easy?
In any case, food for thought yes?

You can use the Unification Patch to solve the issue, since you apparently plan on using mods anyway.

How i never managed to find that with all the other mods i run i dont know
