Judy should have been bisexual, romance feels so lacking

Personally, I think romance options should be player sexual, and left up to the player to decide if that means the npc is gay, bi, or straight.

Ugh yes, I 100% agree. I don't understand why people are so hung up on characters having their own sexuality. Then people get butthurt when their favourite character doesn't like what's between the main characters legs lol. I feel when you're playing through your own story, whoever you romance is canon for your story.

The issue with this is that is we need to treat each character as their own individual in CP2077, not designed for V but designed for themselves. It adds a layer of depth.

You talk about people getting butthurt about what's between the MC's legs but this is literally what the OP and you are doing by aligning with playersexual. "wah wah Judy doesn't like penis she needs to like whatever the player has, not her own preference". We romance within *her* story arc, not *ours*.

I never wanted to romance Judy so you're wrong.
The characters can still have prior relationships so all Judy's ex's could be female. It really doesn't change anything they're still their own characters.

I never said *you* wanted to romance Judy. I said you align with playersexual.

And saying a character is lesbian and then conveniently changing that halfway through their story to fit V completely disregards a whole layer to that entire character. Sexuality is something important to a lot of people and CDPR wanted to make it important to the characters too.

It's funny how this whole player sexual thing persists.

I get it, you are the player character and the game should revolve around you. Thus all the characters you meet should suddenly want you, it's a power fantasy.

But certain people prefer a well crafted story to a wish/porn fulfilment.

What makes character with a set sexual preferences like with set world views, dreams, aspirations and reasons for doing the things that they do interesting and liked is that they add to the complexity and believability of the story and the world they live in.

Like in real life you will fall for someone but that someone will not be interested in you, maybe because of your actions or maybe because they just don't swing that way.

People like to say that this isn't real life and demand the change to player sexuality at the expense of the said character. And with that I just can't agree. Why stop at sexual orientations of characters in a story, why not change everything just because you find it offensive, not to your liking etc.?

Some say that they can be gay/bi/straight but suddenly fall for V, but in doing so it cheapens the character.

Like I said in a another thread, there should've been at least two options per gender/sexual orientation but hey, we got this.

And to my bros that wanted boom boom with Judy, well there are sites out there that will make that wish come true lol

I don't think you understand what I mean. From what I've been reading the characters with their own sexuality, but the romances are shallow. Take DA2 for example, characters were player sexual and the writers could focus more on their personalities and goals in the game. I just think it's better that way because people are going to make them gay/straight/bi in the fandom anyway lol. Just look at the CP2077 section on AO3.

Well, I've met a few killer chicks in real life that I wish were bi too. You can't always get what you want.

I like Panam more than Judy tbh. Judy is the stereotypical alt/goth/emo/punk girl with an attitude. I couldn't miss a girl like that these days if I blind-folded myself and threw a rock out my window. Panam seems like less of a steroetype and actually makes you work a bit for a relationship, which is more realistic and attractive imo.

I see what you're saying but I still disagree. The writing quality of the character is not in correlation to the character's sexuality. People can do whatever they want in fandoms and that is irrelevant to be honest.

Panam is wholesome, Judy is a gangbanger.

I got that same feeling but from Judy. While playing Panam's quest she was really hitting on me in the part where you are in the cabin during the sandstorm (Which I guess is a bug considering Panam is straight?), Throughout her arc we kept having these sweet moments together that through my viewpoint we enjoyed as more sisters than anything.

I had to get through Judy's missions and help her out first then got the call for the date which was the last mission and it was sweet. Enjoyed the idea of diving and visiting her hometown and learning more about her as a character (Not sure what the Panam date is). I think Judy's relationship can be the most heartbreaking because you really are the only one she has, atleast Panam has a whole family of Nomads to go back to.

Could have been cool to have some bi characters, for sure, but I think Judy being a lesbian is fine, otherwise every romanceable NPC should be bi/playersexual. But it's not that way for the whole immersiveness aspect of the game.

IMO, I prefer NPCs to have their own sexuality to add to realism, but the game doesn't feel much to me but a shooter with some story, so I'd be fine having playersexual NPCs in this case.

Maybe we will get DLC for romance? Who knows.

Noone I really wanted to romance is even romanceable :/

no Im disappointed cause of all the romance options judy is the only one that has the most immersive experience and the best storyline thats why I want male V to be able to romance judy cause shes the only 1 worth romancing, other romance options just feels lacking in story and character development its just feels like woooosh youre in a relationship now.

that's what im asking for either make Judy bisexual if possible or update the other romance options story and character development and make them more interesting and immersive cause apart from Judy other romance options is just meh
So true 100% Judy was a let down with male V lol i was disappointed finding out she only liked Females most interesting option, Techy Lady..

I disagree, I liked Judy and "friendship" was something for me and not everyone have to be bisexual, sometimes you can't just fck anyone you want :D
Yea but what about the option to Wooo her into at least trying? Sure she is into chicks but doesn't mean she couldn't fall for Male V with right Conversation options.

Her being lesbian exactly means that... Just play Female V

I, for one, don't mind either way. I'm alright with games having NPCs that will date anyone, or having a preset sexuality.

Usually people are more interesting than just their sexuality, so if the character is well written for either option, it doesn't really matter all that much.

As for representation... Even if it may represent me or you or whoever, I can see why male players playing a male character may be upset about it if they like the character. Quite frankly, it's a game. Entertainment is the goal, not representation. If being represented in a game deters someone's entertainment and that's the sole reason for it, I really don't want that sort of representation, thank you very much. If it's for the sake of writing and character/plot development, then I'm okay with it.

On the technical side of things, I think it would add a lot more voice lines and work for everyone and the game feels rushed as it is, after all these years of work.

The best solution is adding an in-game gender transfer option.

If you don't let me date the girl I am in love with, at least you should let me change my gender.

So I can be what she wants me to be. I can give up everything for her!

It must be very easy to do in 2077?

I think the solution is to add more options rather than changing the characters to fit a narrative. The issue is that there are only 3?4? romances to choose from.

Keep Judy's preference as it is and just add more romantic options for V. LGBT characters deserve to have representation and we got hints that Judy has always been inclined with females more than men. It's like changing Panam to be bi as well, I would love to romance her as a female V but if that's how she was written I understand.

I played as male V and Judy was totally my favorite out of all of the 'romantic' characters. I courted both Panam and Kerry and hurray I got to have sex with them but there wasn't really any connection.

The writing for Judy was so good. Her distance felt valuable and we went through so much together through the story. When she decides to leave at the end of her thread it was bitter sweet but receiving the text message updates randomly from her travels were my favorite.

Seriously some great writing with Judy.

I'm glad that we were just friends and there was no opportunity for male V to have a romance since I felt like all the romances amounted to were softcore porn scenes and then nothing more.

Ya I personally think they should've made all npcs available regardless of gender or orientation, just make everyone happy.

Now, maybe if there were 20 romance options, I'd be okay with fixed orientations, but if you want deeper storylines for a smaller but deeper selection, I think everyone should get a chance at the character they like.
