Disrespect for people with poor vision

+
The issue refers to Cyberpunk 2077 on Steam Deck. It shows total disrespect for people with poor vision. The menu text is very small, making it impossible to read. The equipment description text is also too small. There is no option to scale the interface, and the Steam Deck Magnifier function (which is designed to help in such cases) does not work. The question is, will there be a solution to this issue? After all, it is noted that the game is fully compatible with Steam Deck.

yeah i cant read the text in the normal game on my monitor. They make the games for young people. I tried using things like the magnifier in windows but those do not work. And changing the resolution to increase the font sucks for the rest of the graphics so I just ignore the text I cannot read and play by "feelings". :(

Not being funny (genuinely), but shouldn't that be solved with glasses? Happy to admit I don't have a comprehensive knowledge of visual impairments, though.

It depends on the type of visual impairment. There are many different issues and glasses won't always fix things, especially when it comes to small details. It would get us way off topic to dive into that though.

That being said, CDPR did release an update a while back where text size and subtitles could be adjusted (as you can see here for example:
). Since Cyberpunk is already completed I wouldn't expect any more changes. Also, I have not played the game on steamdeck, so I have no experience with that platform.

However, CDPR support can be contacted here:

First of all, I want to thank you for your answer. First, I should admit that the video you mentioned is outdated, but yes these settings are present and of course, I turned them on. But need to say, that it does not save the situation, since the text describing abilities, weapons, etc. does not apply to this option, and the Magnifier function (as I already mentioned) does not work correctly. I'm very sorry to read the comment "Since Cyberpunk is already completed I wouldn't expect any more changes." This is the disrespect I'm talking about, instead of making something to help ppl. =(

If they didn't stop support because something would help people, they would never stop. There will always be someone saying adding/changing something is going to help them.

At some point, every single player game stops being supported. It's not about respect or disrespect, it's basic ROI. I don't think there is anyone here who doesn't want to see something added to the game that we'll never see because it just isn't worth it for CDPR.

Reach out to CDPR directly. Maybe it's something they'd throw in if there is a patch in the works. They haven't specifically announced support for CP2077 is over. There could be something else coming but chances are, there isn't.

Not even sure it's possible to increase font size in weapon description in particular, because the little windows in which they're displayed (like for comparisons) seem to have a maximum size after which they simply disappear (or at least, aren't displayed). This was an issue for a good while, on weapons which have long description (mostly iconics). So more you increase the font size, bigger the description will become and so it will likely also cause issues.
So I'm not dev, but I'm pretty sure it would require way more work than just increasing the font size :(

Sorry to hear that. I also had visual issues regarding the new subtitle and text message size(since 2.0 update), even with PC. Which is unfortunate because they decreased the maximum size of subtitles and the new UI for holo makes the text smaller. I wish there were more advanced accessibility options regarding these issues.

Hi Everyone!

First of all, thanks @Kirk_the_Seeker for raising this issue. I had contributed to a discussion on the Steam community forums a few months ago, but since the thread was created two years ago, I felt like no one cared about the magnifier issue on the Steam Deck with Cyberpunk anymore.

If they didn't stop support because something would help people, they would never stop. There will always be someone saying adding/changing something is going to help them.

I understand the explanations provided, but from my perspective, and in line with what @Kirk_the_Seeker mentioned, this is not about an improvement but rather a bug fix. For some of us, this issue is not just annoying but "incapacitating" and, to some extent, even "discriminatory."

The magnifier works properly in other games on the Steam Deck. Cyberpunk seems to be the only game where the magnifier is limited to zooming in on the center of the screen, making it impossible to focus on other areas. This is clearly a bug, not an enhancement request.

I hope CDPR will consider this feedback and provide a solution.

Regards, everyone!
