I am a bit unclear about reinstallation needed for 2.1

Hi, I am a bit unclear about reinstallation needed for 2.1. Do we need to do a clean install even if we never used mods? Also, after clean installing, how do you know if, after going through all that trouble hoping you didn't fail in any of the steps for clean install, the 2.1 ver of the game is working properly? help

If you never used mods, no you don't, in theory again
(even if you used mods, performing a clean install is a good idea, but not mandatory)

With new updates for any game, it's always possible that something goes wrong and a reinstall is necessary, but for me that has been the exception, not the rule (and I never use any mods).

So yeah, I would just update the game and see if it works.
With mods it can be a different story, but with the normal vanilla version I wouldn't worry too much...
