Since switching to FSR, the game has suffered from massive graphical errors, which are particularly evident in performance mode. According to a test by Digital Foundry, this could also be reproduced on a PC. Since then, players have been waiting for an update.
With the announcement of FSR 3 last year, there was hope that the issue would be addressed. Now, over 8 months later, disillusionment has set in. The update came but
a) in an outdated version
and
b) only for the PC.
To clarify. AMD's FSR 3 relies on frame generation, but the upscaler used is version 2.1. So this is a downgrade. This would not bring any improvement on the consoles or PC, rather the opposite. Tests on the PC show this already. Frame generation does a good job, but the visuals suffer massively.
Now you could ask why the latest version was not used. Since the disastrous launch of Cyberpunk, however, no more comments have been made on issues/problems. In this case, however, it can hardly be due to the developers' incompetence.
The modding community shows that integration is possible. Unfortunately, this does not help console gamers much and we can only speculate about the real reasons. Are there contractual agreements with NVIDIA, for example? It would be very easy if CDPR would comment. However, since the fiasco surrounding the launch, they have decided to remain silent. This means that the trust they had regained is now being lost more and more...
