REDLauncher silent crash on pressing "Play"

+
Hi all,

I decided to have a little play around in Cyberpunk (Steam version) today after a two year hiatus. I was checking my Windows reliability history / Event Viewer tonight (for unrelated reasons), and I've noticed that an error relating to REDLauncher is being logged every time I click "Play."

There is no actual error message displayed on screen, REDLauncher just silently crashes in the background.

It's not a huge issue as the game launches and seemingly runs fine. However it's going to fill my Event Viewer up pretty quickly if this happens at every launch of the game.

Hi,
About issues with Red Launcher, I recommend to contact GOG support as noticed on the cyberpunk support page:
Just to know, you're connected to your GOG account in Red Launcher ?
If yes, in the game, you're still connected to your GOG account even if Red Launcher crashed ?

Thank you, I've left a ticket. It's not a big issue, I just don't want my Event Viewer flooded with errors. :p

Unfortunately, I can't see anywhere in game as to whether I'm still connected to my GOG account, but like I say I can still play.

If you clic on "My Rewards" on the bottom right of the main menu ?
If you're not connected, either steps to link your GOG account will appear, either the game will ask you to be connected on RedLauncher.
You can also verify if you're connected to GOG by checking in the settings if you're able to enable cross-progression feature (if you are able to enable it, your account is linked)

I have the exact same problem. Fresh CP2077 Steam install. Everytime I press play, the game launches normally but I can see in event viewer that REDLauncher.exe crashed.

I sent a ticket to CDPR / GOG in June and after going back and forth with support, I was told that it was passed off to the appropriate team for investigation.

However, this is still happening. Short of bypassing the launcher I don't know what else to do.

I'm clearly not alone in experiencing this:

You won't need to make it a big deal, but it is a big deal since this has been happening well past the age of this thread. I literally signed up just to post of having this annoying issue. I don't want my reliability report flooding with redlauncher crashes either. Call of Duty Black Ops did the same exact behavior, and I uninstalled that game for that very reason. I like CP but will have no hesitation to uninstall since no one has addressed this.

And I just built a new system!
