[Request] RedEngine's Legacy: AMD FSR 4 Support for Cyberpunk 2077?

+
I'd like to request that CDPR add proper FSR 4 support for Cyberpunk 2077 (and ideally Witcher 3 also) to ensure those games age well on both Nvidia and AMD hardware - preserved in the best possible state for future players (and buyers).

FSR 2 & 3 were not well received (AMD's fault), and the FSR implementation on Cyberpunk and the Witcher 3 is regarded as below average. FSR 4 is a big visual improvement on earlier FSR versions and opens the door to ".dll swaps" to enable future versions of FSR in the game (just as Nvidia introduced with DLSS 2.0). This would greatly improve how the game ages on AMD hardware.

The (retiring) REDengine's final state will remain part of CDPR's brand for many years - as will Cyberpunk as an industry and graphical benchmark. I hope CDPR will consider spending the resoruces for one last patch to add FSR 4 support on Cyberpunk and Witcher 3.

Our best hope is that this new AMD generation makes a dent on Nvidia's market dominance, if 30% to 40% of the market goes AMD then not just CDPR but every other company will have to cave in and implement their solutions.

heya, commenting to strongly support your thread - please CDPR give us long time players in cyberpunk 2077 and the witcher 3:wild hunt an official fsr 4 for both of these games, they would look fantastic and definitely boost player count. eagerly waiting for such patch.

I had an Nvidia card before and used RT, played the game a lot and took a break. Now I have an AMD card, and would like to return to Cyberpunk, but I see I will have to use a mod to use FSR 4, not a big deal, but official implementation would be preem choom! Next Gen consoles should be using FSR 4 right? It's good future proofing to implement it. Hopefully CDPR kindly does at some point.

Thanks for support all. Finger's crossed that CDPR are listening and have one last surprise update in store for us!

Adding my support for this request too.

Although I currently have an RTX 3080, it's highly likely that my next upgrade will be to the Radeon RX 9070 XT.

It would be great to have the best experience possible on not only the RX 9070, but also the RX 9060 cards which should be out in the next few weeks.

Let's hope that CDPRs plan is to surprise us with a patch supporting the new AMD FSR "Redstone" that was announced recently!

I hope FSR4 is implemented but it is very unlikely since CDProjekt seems to be totally in Nvidia's pockets. I would not be surprised if Nvidia prevents them from adding any rival technology. They didn't bother adding FSR3.1 and to date the FSR3.0 they added is the worst implementation of any game.

Conspiracy theories and rudeness do not belong here, so please keep such comments out of forum posts. Deleted some content.

I am hoping that one of the final updates of the game addresseses this long wanted feature and that we don't have to wait too long on that part.

DLL swaps are great. I mean, i'm using FSR 3 and FG on a GTX 965M. 😂
I wonder if FSR 4 would even work, although i don't see why it wouldn't.

FSR 3.xx is "just" upscaling. FSR 4 uses the AI- units within the RX 9xxx series. So this wouldn't work with other graphic cards. What could be done and would also have a visual advantage would be the upgrade from 3.0 to 3.1.

I join the request to implement native FSR4 in Cyberpunk 2077. NVIDIA GPUs are getting more expensive and hard to get for reasonable price, and very small performance increase with each generation. AMD GPUs are becoming more accessible and with the same or better performance in RT for the price. Would be nice to have FSR4 in game without additional mods from third parties.
