I'd think it more mature to not freak out because a toon in a video game has underwear.
(You can have the option to toggle it, I don't mind. But it needs to exist as the main image and setting.)
That's precisely my point and the reason why it needs to be shown with no limitations.
People need to get accustomed to having this in video games.
That's one reason, and a revolutionary but certainly important one.
Secondly punk is synonymous with
rebellion and therefore so to say illegal
freedom.
Me and my friends from the same block were hanging out at the basketball park around 18:00. 2 of them were good people we also hang out with when we meet them, a punk couple. (Now married)
So with the bold text on mind be sure to expect the unexpected, we were laughing and this girl just randomly flashes her boobs out of laughter, while he's all cool with it. We averted the gaze of course but the convo continued.
It's a normal punk attitude, that's why we were all casual about it like it never happened.
And for a cyberPUNK game to be censored it makes no absolute sense. It practically needs to push the boundaries. It needs to rebel against the system as it is the very core and foundation of that same genre targeted towards the side of the market which is fully aware of said topics.
Out of all - punk subgenres, this is the one that really needs nudity as it is one of the substances that make up it's world. It's nothing strange to find a victorian burlesque sex show in steampunk or a nazi or gay sex scene in dieselpunk genre. But, while dieselpunk can in truth be "run" by sexuality, you don't see that in common dieselpunk creations. Yet cyberpunk is where it's at, as that subgenre is the biggest dystopia apart from post apocalypse and dystopia itself. Any run down system with inhabitants is bound to get arrogant, ignorant, dirty, egoistic. Just as it is common for such run down quarters of life to throw garbage in the sea or live at a garbage disposal it is common for prostitution to take place. Therefore to properly show-don't-tell what said genre is about it needs nudity, it needs to fight against censorship. I am not expecting Subverse out of this, I just want the rebellious aspect to come to the forefront to the fullest extent. In a world run by prostitution you won't live long enough to succumb to it (die like a hero or live long enough to be the villain, that's where this came from) you will succumb to it as soon as your metality grows mature, which is what we are playing as, a responsible human being who can think for themselves. And being a punk it cannot come to a surprise if you piss through the window or yell on speakers during intercourse as your neighbour hits the ceiling from underground.
