Its a very good card. First of all, because it plays facedown its immune to all control except weather so its great in control matchups or when you just want to stall out a turn.
Also, because its an elf, you can do some dirty plays with Aeliren by playing 4 elves + Tor and passing ( I like to use Vanguards in my deck for this, solid strength + you can commando one to set the play up as well). When your opponent passes, Aeliren comes out after the Tor reveal and buffs your whole board. When it works, you can go from 12-16 strength to 40ish. Ive won a few rounds with this. Its getting to be a popular combo though so people are getting wise, so I've worked Ciaran into my deck to mimic the play which often causes my opponent to overcommit, winning me even more card advantage.

Also because Aelirenn + Toruviel is quite popular now, you will often force opponent commit two more cards than he should. With Ciaran back in hand, that is +3 card advantage.
