I actually stabilized Fallout 4 and am now stuck at playing it again.

So, many things have come up I of course didn't "see" before.

The year 2077 mentioned a lot. Then the Abernathy farm. Then, is it memory/mind dance? Sheesh, it is as if Fallout 4 was referenced a lot in Cyberpunk 2077.

There is one problem, though. At some point, my character got all screwed up visually. Got gory trails along the spine and the ribs, and when she speaks, it's as if a gory skeleton is stuffed inside her. It is neither ghoulish (tested if she'll get the appearance from it, it's a nay) nor the adaminite skeleton. No idea how that happened... I don't use any mods.

So, I lost some eight hours of gameplay bc that is for how long I held hope to fix the issue one way or another.
My char is now restored. Here as the Shroud.

And, I also have to share this. It's a nailgun I found somewhere. It was love at firtst sight, and has been well upgraded since. Due to the broken animations (they execute too quickly), it has an insane fire rate, and kills everyone almost instantenously. In V.A.T.S. they have no chance.

Does the last update really improve pawn behavior?
I mean, does it fix their death wish tendencies :D

This was done on Steam.

"We have released an update including the following modifications and fixes.

・Reducing the infection frequency of dragonsplague and adjusting the signs of Pawns infected with dragonsplague to be more noticeable.
 - For example, when infected, glowing eyes will be more noticeable.
・Adding the option to zoom in on the faces of the Arisen and Pawns in the status screen, shops, etc.
・Fixing some issues and implementing adjustments related to the mini map.
 - Treasure chests that have already been acquired won't be displayed on the mini map.

・Adjustments to Pawns’ behavior and dialogue.
 - Fixing issues where occasionally the player couldn't high five Pawns.
 - Fixing issues where Pawns wouldn't start guiding after offering to guide.

 - Making Pawns less likely to fall off cliffs.
 - Reducing the frequency of some Pawn dialogue lines.
 - Improving Pawn lines to better match circumstances.
 - Fixing some issues where Pawns stop speaking outside of combat.
 - Fixing some issues where the Main Pawn speaks support Pawn’s dialogue.
 - Making Pawns more likely to aid the Arisen if the Arisen commands them to help while being held by enemies.
 - Reducing the frequency of Pawns offering to be hired by the player while in the field.
・Fixing issues where sometimes escort quests are considered failed when accessing Character Edit or other specific situations.
・Fixing issues where the player could be jailed when fighting monsters in town.
・Fixing some crashes and freezes in specific circumstances.
・Miscellaneous bug fixes."

Initially was a little indifferent about this, but it is a fact that I saw myself having to revive the pawns after a drop a hell of a lot less after this patch. So I guess so.

Are you able to summon this pawn? That would mean that cross-play is a thing.

I'd say more or less.

They are definitely less likely to fall into deep enough water to get insta-killed but they fall off cliff into a "downed" state about the same as before I'd say.

There is no cross-platform feature. It's entirely locked to the platform respective ecosystem. Cross platform features are added expenses and DD2 just doesn't really need it.

Yep, I know the patch note, but I didn't play on this update (yet).
It was quite annoying before, pawns (and also NPCs) had tendency to simply run on the edge of cliffes and so, fall to their death... Simply walking on edge of cliffes or simply near (deep) water was the worst... No need to talk about fights :D

Well, a tiny improvement so... I hope they will keep improving this, because in my opinion it's one of the "biggest" issue with their AI which overall, is quite impressive :)

Nope, I can't :(

To stay on topic, currently, after finished another Rogue Trader playthrough (heretic-psycher) which was pretty fun, finished The Ascent again, I try few new games (Harold Halibut, Eiyuden Chronicle : Hundred Heroes) and spend a bit of time on Starfield in view of the next "big" update (May 15th I think).

Yeah, it's not enough of an improvement but it's a step in the right direction. At least now I don't get surprised I lost one or more party members every time I walk near a river.

I tried the Steam beta branch of the new Starfield update yesterday. There is some really good changes in there. My personal favorite has to be the respec with NG+. In a game that's so actively pushing you towards NG+, the fact you were stuck with the same background throughout was disappointing in my opinion. Now they just need to add a way for you to keep some resources/outposts or something. Considering the amount of time necessary to build a properly self-sustaining outpost network, losing it all with every NG+ is a hard sell.

I thought the maps would be a nice addition but I think I understand why they left them out at release. In cities/pre-defined areas, they're a nice addition. On procedurally generated planets I feel like they make these places feel very empty.

Otherwise, it was a nice little revisit to Starfield. If only they would release the CK. Get those mods going correctly.

Yep, I really enjoy returning in the game, more than on FO4 (for me) :)

There is nice things in this update for sure. It's cool being able to change background for NG+. For me, I don't need a map, "cities" are not that big and I played enough to know where I go... And yes, on planets, not sure how "useful" a map would be according to the distance between points of interest...
Beside, losing outpost(s) never bothered me because building "big" outposts screwed two of my firt plythroughs, so since, I always built only one outpost with only a couple of buildings (a ship platform, a building to host some of my crew members, few turrets in case, and a generator, that's all). So it never was a big lost. I might try after the update and cross my fingers to not screw my saves again.
I'm really interested by the new ship additions (decorations I think), I really like ship building, it's great and fun!

And yes, if they can release a CK, I'm confident it would bring back a fair amount of players into the game, on PC at least :)

Yeah, I remember you telling us that outpost building was essentially a coin toss on whether your save gets bricked or not on Xbox. Hopefully they made improvements on that. The outpost building can be really extensive and fun once you really get into it (especially with a few mods thrown in) but if it screwed up my game I wouldn't use it either.

Honestly, I was disappointed. I was hoping for actual new parts. Both interior and exterior but from what I've seen so far (I'm planning on playing some more on Sunday), it's entirely interior and there are no new parts. Just empty versions of the same parts to allow you to decorate them as you wish. It's a neat addition but I was hoping for more. The game's shipbuilding is one of it's strongest points and it deserves to be expanded on so much more than that.

Granted it's a beta branch and the final product may be different but so far the release version has been the same as the beta branches.

Well, mod support is coming to console too. I'd assume it will bring back many on Xbox too in, due time. I wish Bethesda worked with Ianpatrick to get the script extender onto Xbox, then y'all could experience the full glory of modding.

With all of this, I still haven't had time to fire up Horizon Forbidden West. One day my backlog will get smaller..... Maybe.....

Could be nice anyway I guess, there are some parts I never use or, I have to use some parts I don't really like because "interiors". We will see, but sure, ship building really deserve some love :)

I keep my expectations (very) low, mostly because of what MS will allow or not. I mean, on FO4, mods are quite limited... so not sure why it will be different on Starfield. But, I don't think mods which would add new ship parts will be a problem, that's already great :D

I agree, low expectations is best considering how limited modding has historically been on consoles but I'm a bit more hopeful you guys will get better modding possibilities since MS bought Bethesda.

Before that, Bethesda was a third party trying to add user generated content into a closed ecosystem. Now they're actually a first party studio over which MS has control and who's success immediately benefits them. They have an actual interest in encouraging Bethesda's historical success with modding. They can benefit tremendously from modding now whereas before it was only Bethesda who would really benefit.

I'm not saying I think Starfield will get better support on console but I think the odds are better than they were 7-8 years ago when they added mods support to consoles.

I'm currently completing another playthrough on Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous. And even better, Owlcat just announced today a new DLC for June. I can't wait!

13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim (PS4)
and
Resident Evil Village (XSX)

These two have been on my to play list for years, 13 Sentinels I started years ago but never finished.
RE Village is getting overshadowed by all of those Lady Dimitrescu memes

I couldn't side with the science folks. After the teaser at the end of FO3, I couldn't look at the science folks in FO4 as being anything other than an enemy of humanity.
This conversation has sparked a whole another Fallout 4 playthrough for me.
The last time I played it, that was ages ago. I thought maybe I have changed. So I followed the story.

I sided again with the Institute. Oh ma, do they have dirty hands. Mass murders. Replacing humans with Synts in societies for purpose of control or/and experiment. Traces of dogmatic society centered around Father, not like with the Republic of Dave but in that direction. Perhaps all centered around treating the world above as if it is gone anyway, hence devaluing human life to zero.

So why them? They have the biggest potential to learn and change, and to turn things around in the favor of the humanity. The leadership has changed there, and all that brain power can be put to good use. Also, the general of Minutemen and the director of the Institute becomes one and the same person. That has got to count for something.

It is too about picking the least of the evils to tame. From my corner, the BoS are fanatics, and the Railroad are loonies. The Institute, I label them misguided. I think they are able to be driven to the right road.

So....

I've started a new playthrough of TW3.

I discovered a new way Geralt can die: death by loading screen. I was playing the quest called "Precious Cargo" in White Orchard. When the man tries to make a run for it, there's a black loading screen to set up the chase on horseback. But the loading screen was taking extra long for some reason, then I heard the death sound effect. A few seconds later, the "You Are Dead" screen appears. WTF?! Geralt survived a battle with a zeugl and the Kayran, but a loading screen was too much for him. :ROFLMAO: RIP Geralt.
