what will you be?

ok guys im still in the first act, but i was wondering how you lot where gonna play the game? will you be a master swordsman who tears his foes a new one? a master in the signs, who whoops butt with his arcane knowledge. or are you gonna bomb them too death with your magical bombs!

A hybrid works quite well for me right now, but I'll have to see how it works out in higher levels. I don't think it's really possible to only rely on magic, though. After all, the definition of a witcher is that he's fighter/mage hybrid. I guess the choice will be either you're going to be spell-casting warrior or a sword-fighting mage ;)

Good question,Usually when given the choice I tend to sway more to being a mage character mastering the arts of magic. The Witcher is the first I truelly enjoy playing as swordsman.I am going to attempt mastering the sword ]:->

Magic is great but it is not very effective against bosses and mini bosses.
Working solely off the Glossary entry (just started C3), it seems that charged-up Igni blasts and/or bombs are the only serious way to deal with the Kikimore queen, considering what kind of terror it is in melee. Whats more, the secondary effects from the Igni and Yrden signs can substantially cripple the big enemies, making them much easier to take down with a blade.Anyway, right now I'm a pretty well-rounded guy, although at my level (20 I think) theres not a whole lot that can be done to specialize. I just picked up Bombs and upped my Dex for the Dodge and Parry boosts.

Specialising at 20?Well, I designed a mage build that was pretty awesome at level 20 ...Silver talents by level:Bonus from potion: Stamina 3Level 15: Stamina 4Level 16: Intelligence 3Level 17: Intelligence 4Level 18: Endurance RegenerationLevel 19: (unspent)Level 20: Igni 3, Igni 4, Added EfficiencyCombined with a rather compulsive Tawny Owl/Albedo addiction, this character obliterated everything with Aard, Igni, and Yrden.
