Why can't (just can't!) we destroy Arasaka Tower ❌?

Not everyone knows that destroying the tower of the valiant Arasaka family and the wonderful Mikoshi data archive is one of the worst crimes in the world of Cyberpunk 2077.

Not everyone knows that the Arasaka operatives get access to a series of wonderful next-gen video games (most likely a training braindance to improve combat skills ), "The Witcher".
No Streetkids or Nomads have access to the "Witcher" universe, Arasaka members only.

And if you destroy the tower, then from now on no one in Night City will play The Witcher game, will not have access to this software, and total moral, ethical and spiritual degradation will begin and the last hope of humanity will be destroyed.

Now live with it.

But then there is no game......Ignoring the wild mischaracterization of the Arasaka's as "Valiant"......

IF V just goes "Ok I messed up guess I gotta die now" then there is no conflict no story no game. I have to assume this is at least to some degree a troll/joke post no? Like this is a bit? "Araska good, V bad, Accept punishment" Also all the mentions of Witcher easter eggs, and advanced games.... I'm just going to assume this is not meant to be super serious.

wait, er... your serious? :(
Well, can you imagine how horrible the future of Night City will be if people can't even play "The Witcher"?! :'(

Purely theoretical: can you call a Cyberpunk game super serious or not? )

1.) yes there are absolutely "Serious" stories/movies/games in the cyberpunk genre. Many things in the genre get close to being silly, and not all of it ages well....but the attempts ate story telling, and subject matter are very serious, some of the philosophical questions asked by the genre can be pretty deep.... sure other films/games/etc... are just violent and silly or gratuitous, which is actually usually just as fun. But yes cyberpunk can be serious.

2.) My point wasn't about the game but about the post.... IF Arisaka are the good guys, and V just accepts their fate.... there is no story... so the POST must be in jest at least partially...

And Arasaka's rank and file are very forward-thinking and patriotic. Here is the material they disseminate on the corporation's internal networks:

They love Night City as much as V does.
And if V is playing for the corpo, if he doesn't want to expose his hometown to the NUSA strike and indulge Myers' imperialistic ambitions, then he belongs among them. )

Because otherwise...

Why would you want to do that? It’s like the Star Wars movies where they blew up the same battle station three different times.

Arasaka is the only force protecting planet Earth from Soviet attacks!

By destroying Arasaka Tower, you are helping the Communists!
Remember this.

I already despised Arasaka, you didn't have to sell it to me
You're making your choice! ;)

Arasaka, on the other hand, continues to do many honorable deeds:

And actually, to be honest, I think it's wrong to blame Arasaka for all sorts of atrocities.
A significant amount of evil in Night City is not done by Arasaka as an organization, but by individual employees like Abernathy.
“There are no bad organizations, but sh.tty employees.” ;)

It's pretty crazy how taking down the Arasaka tower can mess with the whole vibe in Cyberpunk 2077. I mean, only their operatives get to dive into the "Witcher" games while everyone else in Night City misses out. It really makes you think about the weight of your choices in the game. I remember feeling a mix of excitement and dread when deciding whether to go after Arasaka, knowing that it could wipe out something as iconic as "The Witcher" universe for everyone else. It’s wild how those decisions play into the larger story and culture in Night City.
This is Arasaka Tower's greatest treasure:
:D
