after update on gog- NvCameraSDK.dll missing

Hi,
Sorry to bother you
Last night I had huge update on my gog client (30 gb+)
It has failed with description that there is some disc aces issue
I have cleared the HDD and tried once more.
It started from 90% and failed, after that it started from 60%
I have treied to start game from D:\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt GOTY\bin\x64\witcher3.exe, this has however resulted in error stating that:
NvCameraSDK.dll is missin on pc

I have tried to reinstall/ repair visual c++ red. as I red this may help- it did not
I have reinstalled gog client but nothing improved

After that I have tried to download NvCameraSDK.dll, this has changed a bit as now gmae wont start but will generate this error log:

I have also try sb else solution about exchanging the patch files- this has not helped as well
Last night I have run sync/ repair option from gog after installing it again but this has not improved
I have also tried to reinstall whole nvidia drivers as this seemed to be related- with no luck

Normally I would simply reinstall the whole game
However I am in my hometown and I dont have cd with me and download speed would take forever.

Are there any know solutions for this?

Also in any chance this helps:
1. I am running windows 10 home, 64 bit- was running fine on it for couple of days before update
2. processor intel core i7- 4700 mq cpu at 2.40ghz - alenware 14

Am I right in interpreting the above to mean that you originally installed the game on a prior version of Windows, then upgraded to Windows 10, the game ran fine for a few days, then all of this started?

There have been no updates to the game (nor any 30+ GB updates for GOG) anytime recently. Try the following:

1.) Remove any and all mods, if using any.

2.) Ensure neither the game nor Galaxy is installed anywhere under Program Files or Program Files(x86). Especially if upgrading from a prior installation of Windows, this can wreak havoc.

3.) Set witcher3.exe (and Galaxy's .EXE) to "Run as administrator". If using any form of antivirus, add the game's installation folder to its exceptions list.

Let us know if that has any effect. If not, you'll probably need to re-install. (You are on a laptop, correct?)

Nope. I had upgraded to windows 10 before installing the game
I have bought game of the year edition and installed the game via cd's. Afterwards I have played it for a day and it started 33gb ~ update. As it was updating in background everytime I was running gog and not playing the game (at least I think this is the way it was working). It has not caused me any issues. I went back to my hometown and left the box in my home.


Issues started after this huge update finished. When it finished it was showing error about aces to the drive. After that I was unable to start game from gog and when trying to run it from game folder it was throwing error about missing .dll file.

Not sure where this dll file should be located, I downloaded it from internet trying to fix the issue by myself but than it was not starting and creating the huge error logs.

I assume the issue may be with:
1. Nvcamerasdk.dll I have downloaded is not compatible with my version or contains individual files. Or I should paste it to different directory
2. Somehow some nividia files had been corrupted as well as this Nvcamerasdk.dll seems to be connected to geforce expirience somehow. This may be due to fact that update has failed when they were being installed via gog client
3. There are other .dll files missing
4. Somehow update or foreign Nvcamerasdk.dll I have downloaded have changed graphic settings causing next issue and not allowing me to run wither.exe at all (I have tried to check similar logs on the internet and they seemed to be connected to graphic errors, also my laptop wont run it on higher settings ) .

I deleted all gog and witcher related files except my save files I have backed up, I will try to download game via gog client and install it once more.
I will let you know if this helpes for future reference :)

PS. I tried to run witcher3.exe as administrator and also under different compatibility modes . I have also checked if game folder under security tab has all privileges ticked
It will take a while until it downloads but I will have some time to watch game of thrones for now :D

Oh...okay! Now I think I understand what happened.

Best bet is to do a complete re-install. The game was likely trying to update to the latest version (1.31) in the background while you were actually playing it. You've likely borked your installation and/or corrupted a save file. If you wish to try to salvage what you have, follow all of the instructions above. Once that's all done:

1.) Manually delete everything in the ...Documents\The Witcher3\... directory (EXCEPT the gamesaves folder -- KEEP that).

2.) Run a verify / repair through GOG. (Do not be doing anything else on the PC until this is 100% complete. Multi-tasking during installations / uninstallations / verifications / repairs is a great way to wind up with corruption or file system errors.)

If that doesn't fly, then it's likely that something in the installation itself is borked beyond repair. At that point, I would reinstall (to a different path, just to be safe), and be sure you have backed up your saved games. Although...:(...if you were playing on a GOTY that somehow needed 30+ GB of updates...it's highly likely that any saves you've made may not be 100% solid. Even if they seem to be working fine, there might be an issue that won't crop up for another 50 hours. If you do wind up re-installing, I recommend starting a new game.

Regardless of how this works out in the end, it's still going to be better than Margery Tyrell's fate last season. I think that's the worst I've ever felt at the end of an episode. It was worse than the Red Wedding in some ways...

2. Installed the game again- this time downloaded whole thing
3. restored saves using the cloud sync (not sure it that was needed but just in case if those are less corrupted / more compatible with the game)

It was dropping fps a lot but after deleting game profile from geforce expiriance and playing with settings it seems to be even better than before.

Hoorays! :) Sounds like it was just installation files that were problematic. If the saves fired up without issue and everything seems to be normal, you're probably in the clear. Feel free to post back if anything else pops up!
