Confirmed: Alvin is the Grand Master

So I think this can finally be confirmed. Most people had already figured that much, but it was never truly confirmed.

In one of the side quests in Novigrad (Message from an Old Friend), Geralt goes into a book store. The shop keeper says that there is a book that was left for him with a red cover and a letter in it. The book is called My Manifesto and is about Jacques de Aldersberg. The book explains how he kind of just popped out of nowhere and such (Alvin was pretty much TW1's version of Ciri). The letter inside speaks about the terrible things which he had seen in the future (Ithlinne prophecy) and his vision to create ubermen (the mutated men he had tried to create) to save humanity. At the end it was signed "A". Can't get more clear than that.

On a side note, it would be neat if the player imported a save from TW1 and romanced Triss in TW1 & TW3, if Geralt could bring this up to her.

Sorry but this is something pretty much established since the Witcher 1.. Alvin was Jacques of Aldersberg, and he became grandmaster to "save the world" from the white frost (he was also child of Elder Blood, but prophecy was never about him)... thats why he stole Witcher's mutagens with the help of Salamader gang... thorough whole W1 you could influence certain aspect of that story based on your conversations with Alvin.. he only got the idea to steal those mutagens as he realized those mutations made Witchers ideal protectors of the people that had to get out of the North to survive.. anyway its nice CDPR put that letter in W3, as a lot of players didnt got that W1 ending right..

Yes, everyone knew it in TW1, but it was always somewhat up for debate (no matter how weak the argument against was) since it was never truly 100% confirmed. So it's nice to see CDPR put that little nod in the game.

Yeah it was pretty much certain...still it's nice to see a confirmation.
Too bad Alvin decided to turn everyone into witcher-like mutants to face and survive the white frost...
