DX11 Mode not starting or crashing, workaround

+
Download and install DVXK dlls (only for GPU with support Vulkan technology, mostly works for all with DX12 support):
- download newest "dxvk-...tar.gz" from: https://github.com/doitsujin/dxvk/releases
- unpack this file and from "x64" folder copy: "d3d11.dll" and "dxgi.dll" in to the same location where is the <ur game folder>/bin/x64/witcher3.exe (This will force the game to use vulkan instead of the DX11)

When witcher3.exe not starting, process sitting with 0 % usage in task manager after using DXVK dlls, then close this game proess in task menager.

And if you have installed Geforce Experience, you have to disable in game overlay:
https://www.partitionwizard.com/partitionmagic/how-to-disable-nvidia-overlay.html

and secound thing is to disable Nvidia Ansel technology in Nvidia Inspector:
and "Apple changes"

Now you will be able to start W3 NG DX11 with DVXK x64 dlls

game .exe? Do you mean witcher3.exe?
Is it suitable for AMD? So far it doesn't work.

You have to make sure you turn off all overlays including Steam, Afterburner and AMD Adrenaline. Why? Because these programs often call up dxgi.dll and/or d3d11.dll from the Windows/System32 folder and that will block the game from using the DXVK versions you placed in the game directory.

Thanks!
My card is old. Although the software description says Vulkan Driver Version 10.01.23, Vulkan API Version 1.2.170 But it seems that Vulkan is not supported. On startup, it immediately crashes "GPU does not meet minimal requirements. Support for DirectX 11 is required."

Rollback to 4.0
Taken from here. Thanks xeldm.

1. Press Win + R at the same time
2. Enter "steam://open/console"
3. In the console that appears, enter the following command "download_depot 292030 292042 8737622765292089091"
4. After the download is completed, we drop the bin folder into the game directory with the replacement of files. The path to the bin folder downloaded from steam will be visible in the console.
5. Run the game.

Some people write that everything breaks again when you re-enter the game. Everything works for me, but I turned off Steam and run witcher3.exe from the \X64 folder. I don't know if this affects or not.
PS. It's been a month since the last patch. Is support for the game over and nothing will be fixed?

Will be but nobody know when, , there is to many users with crash issue, especially on steam or almost all RX 7900 series users.

Untill then:
Cause of the crash issue in DX11/DX12 may be:

  • Incorrect user.settings files in the <ur documents>/the Witcher 3 folder (you need to delete all user.settings/dx12user.settings files), or insufficient system privileges to run the game exe or to save game settings files in the documents folder. Running the game exe as an administrator may help with this issue.
  • Outdated or incorrect graphic drivers, lack of directX update, or visual c++ redistrib update.
  • Mods or changes made to game files can cause various problems. The Steam/GOG verify/repair option may not recognize these mods, and even saves can be broken due to some mods used during the game progress. In this case, you may need to run an older save or start a new game. Uninstalling the game does not remove mods from game files, so you have to manually delete the entire game installation folder to ensure that no mods are left behind.
  • Using DVXK dlls may help some users to run DX11: - if ur GPU supports Vulkan technology, then download DXVK dll: https://forums.cdprojektred.com/ind...r-crashing-workaround.11115217/#post-13590037
  • If still not working then rollback to 4.01:
