In game time and day cycle out of sync

I was just enjoying what appeared to be a beautiful sunrise in game and then noticed that it was 3 in the morning. Can't tell if this is a one time weird occurrence, intended odd sunrise time, or if the day cycle is moving at a different pace than the in game clock.

I was just enjoying what appeared to be a beautiful sunrise in game and then noticed that it was 3 in the morning. Can't tell if this is a one time weird occurrence, intended odd sunrise time, or if the day cycle is moving at a different pace than the in game clock.

I presumed since the Witcher stories and game were developed by a Polish author and studio respectively the time cycle approximately matches that part of the world, i.e. early sunrise in summer at the higher latitudes.

That could be it. The nights do seem very oddly short.
