Is the game really an adaption of, or just inspired by, the pen & paper RPG?

I want to be able to play without ever having to touch a gun if I want. Guns and shooting should never be mandatory in Cyberpunk.

It would be weird nowadays if the game was a direct adaptation. The first edition was called Cyberpunk 2020, and that's probably when the game is going to come out.

Some predictions for the future have changed, and direct adaptation of CP would be unintentionally funny. If I remember right in CP2020 you could have played as a hair metal rockstar.
