Is there a way to get rid of the horse trot stutter?

This is one of those issues that a lot of people don't notice, but once you notice it you can't unsee it, and it becomes terribly annoying.

Has anyone found a fix yet? I noticed that it doesn't happen when you use the freecam, which means that there's a problem with the camera following the animation. Every half a second, there is a really short freeze and it is most noticeable when looking at the grass and foliage.

This has been requested approximately 478 quadrakabillion times by players across every platform. As far as I know, CDPR has not yet acknowledged the issue. I'm not sure what causes the bug, but it also affects Ciri's animation cycle. It may be caused by something deeply embedded within the movement system.

Sounds like you might be experiencing frame stutter. Here's how to fix it.

Go to your Nvidia Control Panel, go to Manage 3D Settings, choose The Witcher 3, and change maximum pre-rendered frames to 1.

Hopefully that helps. Also try playing the game in fullscreen rather than borderless windowed mode.

It's not a matter of stutter. The horse's "trot" animation does not complete its cycle before returning to the its initial frame. It will happen even with silky-smooth frame-rates. In fact, the smoother your FPS, the more noticeable the animation glitch is.

Yeah, it seems like they've decided to simply move right past this one, for whatever reason. As its such a simple fix, and they haven't even responded over all this time, my guess is it's probably some obscure legal reason.

Or it's something that can't be fixed without opening up Pandora's Box with the engine. (I think we're all willing to accept that TW3 has some very funky things going on under the hood. Awesome...but funky.)
