[MOD REQUEST] - Marks on the water

Hi guys,
I've got a few proposals for all modding community. Can any of you guys bring back the marks that Aard left on the water on 35 minutes gameplay. It was damn awesome. I know that the water tesselation after casting a sign still appears in the game, but it's barely visible now.

Another cool thing would be to bring back the blood decals in the water... Still...CDP managed to put it into the game, but only when a monster dies...
In the E3 trailer we could see it after every swing of the Geralt's sword. It looked very nice imo.

The last but not least; the footstep's marks left not only by Geralt in the water were very cool. Esspecially when drowners jumped.

You can see all of those things I'm asking for in this video, 8;45.

erxv is correct. It worked fine but has been bugged since the 1.07 patch.

Having the blood appear in the water after every swing would definitely be nice however, blood decals on the ground also don't stay long enough in my opinion.

I just wanna paint the world red :lol:

I know they are in the game. They even work on my computer ( patch 1.08 ). But now they look like these:

2 years age they were more, kinda sharp/ more raw more visible. Maybe that's a water color that has changed a little bit, but those marks caused by Aard are not that great as they used to be. Please look at the videos I posted before. Look at the water when Geralt casts a sign on a drowner.

I think the water was much more tesselated then...

it was also alot more laggy, watch the fight with the water hags... sometimes the effect happens like half a second after the aard.... to me the ripple effect just looks bigger and with crappier resolution in the 37 min demo (but that maybe due to youtubes shitty compression)

There you go, mate - (https://mega.nz/#!oYdiQRjb!LvZS4Bfc7pp4JmcTej1pYpdUjA5A1xcYeHKLK37wCfs). Courtesy of @mecha_fish. 37 min gameplay vid from 2014 in all its uncompressed glory.

Back to topic, I too would love ripple effects and marks on the water along with blood stains with each swing of the sword to be implemented back into the game.

I think the blood thing can be tweaked already, via the NVIDIA tweak guide.

Detail Level Tweaks

The in-game Detail Level setting is limited to adjusting the visible range of static decals. In the config file you can further increase their visibility, and the visibility of other related items, too.

[LevelOfDetail]
DecalsHideDistance= [Ultra value: 80]
DynamicDecalsHideDistance= [Default value: 20]
DimmerHideDistance= [Default value: 60]
StripeHideDistance= [Default value: 60]
SwarmHideDistance= [Default value: 200]

We're fairly certain that DynamicDecals are the animated pools of blood that ooze out of slain monsters, but the other options we can only guess at given the limited time available to us.

In another section of the config file you can increase the chance of decals spawning (not every sword strike results in an emitted decal on '1'), and increase the distance at which decals will spawn, allowing distant enemies to emit blood spatter when hit.
