No voices on cutscenes [Witcher 3 PC ver. 4.04]. Anyone else having this problem?

Voices doesn't play up on any of the in-game cutscenes (gameplay voice-overs are playing fine), that includes that intro cutscene before the game's main menu. Music works fine but no voices.The Witcher 3 PC version 4.04.

Before wasting time with unecessary questions: yes, all drivers are up to date, I've tried both DX11 and DX12 versions of the game, my speakers settings is already in Stereo mode, I play using a standard stereo headphone. And I tested various other games on the same PC and the audio on those games are working 100%.

It's a Ryzen 5600, 32GB of RAM, RTX 3060.

For anyone experiencing this issue, this is what worked for me:

Windows Settings, Audio. Turn on mono audio. I turned it on, and the cutscene audio played the next time I loaded in. I quit out, turned mono audio off, and the cutscene audio still played the following time I loaded in.

Just move files sounds.cache in folders \content\patch0 and \content\patch1 somewhere outside the game folder. Keep them somewhere in case you want to restore.

There is still the one basic question left:

Are you using any mods, or have you ever used any in the past?

If so, back up all your saved games and try doing a CLEAN installation.

If the above suggestions work, it's still indicative of something in the game or on the system having an issue. Your config is not that far off from my own -- Ryzen 5600X, 16 GB RAM, RTX 3060 with 12 GB VRAM.

Are you using Windows 11?

What helped me in the game was settings > sound > dynamic Range - headphones (not 3D headphones!)

The problem was with Razer Barracuda X via 2.4ghz wireless

So this worked for me, so hope it helps

sometimes the pc automatically overrides the settings. A pain in the ass, yes, but sometimes reverting and setting the default location for sound works as I have a MSI RAIDER STEELBOOK with Nahamic and Sonar and sometimes have to do this for my microphone and Sound for the speakers
