What if CDPR only sold Digital PC copies of the game and then offered the CE bundle as a completely separate retailer pack that specifically says "warning this bundle does not contain the game, just buy this if you want to upgrade to the CE version" for people who purchased the digital game only, and then wanted the CE pack along with it. That way retailers could still sell the CE bundle pack (without the game itself) and consoles could still have the maximum allowed, and PC could be the very very Adult version. I'm sure they probably wont, I'm just exercising it as an idea for philosophical reasons. I'm thinking it's possible, as an idea/strategy. Interesting?

I'm mean ... Lil said on discord that she was confident it wont be AO way long ago (last fall I think).
Just thinking about it as an idea, not because I believe it is planned. :D

that seems like far more trouble than its worth, tbh.

the real question is why is this a hill everyone wants to die on when CDPR never gave any indications that they wanted to make it an AO level game? as Rawls said, the devs themselves never thought it would get that far, and the consoles were always a part of the vision.

like I guess CDPR could pump up the PC version, but you'd still have to contest steam, and you'd still have have ask, is this even what CDPR wants? because they've never indicated that it was.

There's no harm of people who like it, in saying that we like it. We already know and accept that fact that CDPR is going to only do what they think is right. We're just expressing that we would love it if they did, Even if they don't, and that's okay too. :D

except there's still retailers that wouldn't stock it. steam might, but its no given, and there's other retailers that wouldn't. not to mention anyone preordering CE's which might not be stocked in stores with that.

the other thing is, is it even censorship if CDPR didn't set out to make a porn game in the first place? people are projecting THEIR vision onto CDPR's vision and mixing the two up.

its not widely held but its certainly in this thread and on the discord.

we already know genitals are allowed (and not because of Rockstar games which are fairly tame in comparison to whats out there), this is more aimed at people who want full hardcore penetration on camera which is never happening, and people who legitimately are cancelling preorders because they think there wont be dicks (seriously, the discord is wild.).
Nobody is cancelling pre-orders because there isn't hardcore penetration in the game. I assure you. They might say they are, but they aren't. People say dumb things all the time, it's just the only threat they can think to make against a company of CDPR's size ("threat" is a strong word, of course).

And yes, the Discord and in some parts, these forums, has gotten pretty crazy since E3. But you know you love it. You disappeared for months after the E3 2018 hype died down, and now you're back. :p

of course I love it. why do you think I disappeared in the first place? I loved it too much.

Haha. Well, welcome back.

Hush your dirty mouth, Rawls, nobody wants to hear your naysaying garbage. The game will be AO or I'll riot.

@fridgeband

Just read your character thing -- sounds pretty cool. Seems better suited to an alternate timeline 2077, but I like the concept of a badass Cyberpunk time-traveler. Would make a good book or movie.

Doubt there will be time travel in 2077, but if there was, sounds like your roleplaying fantasies would come true :p

No no- I said I made up my own head-cannon for my character. She time-traveled from some time beyond 2077, and landed in 2077 on purpose. In my head-cannon, She is doing every mission in the game as part of a bigger secret mission given to her some time in the future before she went back in time to 2077. The game doesn't need to acknowledge it for it to still work as my head-cannon. Cool hmm?

Blue Guard riot gear standing by. . . .

Yep, I understood. The last part was a general comment and not a rebuttal of your idea.

Also unrelated to your specific character idea, but I am definitely very curious how they will handle "extra" package augmentations, if at all.

We know the character creator will allow for androgynous characters (or, at least, that's the "plan"). When your character is in their undergarments, will an otherwise female-presenting character be able to have a Mr. Studd (I think it's called in 2020?) visible?

I think it will honestly be quite a challenge for CDPR to figure out. Not for political reasons, but for purely technical ones. I've never seen a character creator that allows for that much customization. Maybe it's easier to design than I think, or maybe it's way, way harder (pun sort of intended).

It would be nice if it was optional in the settings of the "upgrade" itself. I hope the main character will be able to change their own settings and even hack their own body and brain by hooking their wrist cable into their own neck/side of head chip slot. Maybe then there could be a setting in the cyberfuta upgrade that changes if it's visible when not "in use". I mean, that way it's not bouncing around in combat and causing distractions.

Looking at CP2020 it's a primarily a "social" benefit, in that you can use it to influence NPCs. Given the way CP2077 is designed I can't say as I see it having much utility.

Well then maybe try to get a little more creative... :sneaky:
In the future, even typical household Toasters are built with Powerful toast making AI... AI that can fall in love... :sneaky::sneaky::sneaky::sneaky:
(Just joking :ROFLMAO:)

Ha, you saying that reminds me of Yakuza. They have collectible VHS cassettes that you can then take into porn shops in order to play a video of a pornstar posing in a bikini. They also have a side quest where you have to stealthily collect a porn mag for a kid. The Japanese have a great sense of humour about these things.

Oh damn, I didnt know that. I know Saints Row has all kind of crazy stuff like dildos and stuff. It seems Sleeping Dogs devs didnt had the balls to market it, so most people missed it. I think one of the main character should be Porn Shop owner, so player occasionally visit him.

I think for developers it cuts down to the question: Is it really necessary to allow the player to adjust the downwards (or secondary) equipment, when it will never be shown or relevant apart from character creation?

However, when the game features full frontal nudity, with occasional cut scenes in which the player character appears naked, and/or (even if only moderate) sex scene's, then I would like to see the carnal equipment I have (or have not) picked during character creation, not only to be all naughty about it...

...but mostly for the sake of consistency.

My vision of sex scenes in video games.
Duration: 1-4 minutes (depends on the scenes) divided into 1-3 phases (phase 1 15 % prelude - phase 2 60 % sexual act - phase 3 25 % final)
Camera: third person from different angles.
Presentation: everything that belongs to it. Complete nudity, erect penis, penetration.
But the whole thing should be rather aesthetic, so no close-ups or constant showing of the genitals, but if you see something more here and there, it would be exactly as I imagine it.

Of course CDPR doesn't take the risk to get an AO rating, that's not what I'm asking for.
But for me violence and its presentation is more a reason to give the game an AO than sex and that is absurd from my point of view.
Now you can just accept it or try to change it, I tend to the latter

PS. And all of you who think with sex the game would be a porn game, you are wrong because it is clearly a racing game, you can drive a race so it has to be a racing game... Irony

Totally unrealistic. We all know real sex doesn't last this long.
Well, if you eat your vegetables...:smart:

Customization and Freedom of choice allows me to customize and make a deeper character. Deeper character that feels more personalized = MUCH deeper immersion. It's about increasing the levels of comfy and fun, because I'm like "aww yea This is my bro V, she's a cyberfuta and she's the coolest hero and we're gonna kick some bubblegum and chew... Umm You know! *cough* WERE GONNA SAVE THE DAY! *gets on cybermotorcycle* VRRRRRRRRRRRRRR dunn dunnnnn "IM BATMAN" It's really important to have all that good stuff because if it's not there I will be very sad and it won't feel as deeply connected to my character. I'm basically creating a really cool role-model that was missing from my life. I need to make this superior hero of a person and make them do great things so that I can sort of admire them and look up to them and say, This is a hero worthy of striving for, even if it's just in my dreams. You know? :)

I highly doubt, that they will deliver a story, where V (regardless of ANY customization) will do great things to become a hero worthy to strive for.

I personally expect a lot of not so ethical choices, where we only have the evil option, and the more evil option, and no matter what we choose, someone (including allies) will get the shit in the face, and all we can do, is to ensure that we aren't the ones getting the shit in the face. A world where friends today, will be enemies tomorrow, where guys like Dexter DeShawn burn us when we need help the most and where good things turn out to be FUBAR.
I expect Night City to swallow all of us, chewing us to pieces, spitting us out, just to swallow us back in, until we are more then willing to consent when someone says:
"Wake the fuck up samurai, we have a city to burn."

And all that should be in the game, but If I work hard enough and strive hard enough and think smart enough, I believe that I should be able to be victorious and a hero (by my own standards, even if nobody in the game knows me or thinks so). If the player is guaranteed failure and defeat no matter what, and there is no chance of heroic victory, then there is zero reason to play in the first place. I'm confident CDPR knows what they are doing and wont only include those opposite of extremes of 100% Defeat/Lose or 100% Win/Victory, without including a good mix in between too, but know it's important to provide all of them all choices to the player. I can't speak for CDPR, but this is what I believe they know about since they're really smart and cool and professional. :D
