We’ve seen the concert in Munich this week. What an experience that was!
It was super emotional to relive the story and see some of the great moments again - like coming home to a group of friends you’ve gone a lot through with. I’ve become a father since I played TW3 and it all hits even harder now
The sound mixing was great, the scene and song selection was great, the musicians and singers were spot-o. It took about 5secs for tears to well up when hearing the first vocals of The Trail and it stayed that way throughout. :‘)
Some of the highlights were learning that it’s the same woman singing the beautiful clear vocals and the grunting in Child of the Elder Blood - that really wowed me. And right off the bat the drum solo during The Trail which showed that it would be an absolute blast and not just routinely playing the normal versions of the songs - the sync of music and video on that was absolute fire!
I’ve been waiting for a chance to see Percival for a while and now I got even more than I had hoped for!
To name my negatives: the merch. Painfully overpriced and unimaginative design on the t-shirts. Would have loved to get a memento, but ultimately passed on it. And the video quality which I feel like it wasn’t super high-res/high graphic details, I might be wrong but I think I’ve seen TW3 look better than during the show.
Would love to see a recording of it once the tour is over so that I can revisit it again… and again… and again. Please?
Side note: don’t know if anything official is known yet, but the end of the show gave me hope that Percival might return for TW4‘s soundtrack. That would be so, so great. TW3 is among very few soundtracks that I just listen to regularly and it’s so very unique on top. Fingers crossed!
