Unable to Add Friend?

Hello,

My friend and I (both iOS players) want to play some head to head but are completely unable to add each other as friends. Even though he used my "invite a friend" link when I search his name there is no option to add him as a friend. When he searches my profile my name pops up but again no option to add me as a friend. His profile is public and so is mine, anyone else have this issue or know of a solution?

There's seem to be some issues with friend matches and iOS:

Can't play with friends

Since the update last Monday all friends and opponents appear to be offline. So I can't start "Challange a friend" I'm on IOS. Is anyone else encountering this problem?

I have sent a request and haven't heard back in about a week and it still appears to be an issue, was curious if anyone else was seeing something similar
