There’s 0 benefit over Viraxis: Outcast. Unlike all the other 5 evolving cards, Viraxis: King usually wants to be played as late as possible. The best strategy is to reuse a strong duel unit (Seltkirk or Anseis). But those cards are typically only played later in the round when the opponent has played good targets for removal.
His passive gained in his final evolution (that requires Devotion no less) is absolutely useless and encourages suboptimal use of him. His extra benefit should reflect his purpose as a late-play card. For example, remove his passive 1 point boost for each soldier played, and add “Deploy: Boost self by 1 for each allied Soldier or Knight.” Obviously this opens up abuse with cards that spawn volunteers, so it could specify non-token soldiers and knights, or he could have a different base power in his last form. These are just ideas. It doesn’t matter what specifically it is he just really needs a change, otherwise his Devotion form will forever be a waste. And it’d be sad to waste a cool character and art like that.
