What is your biggest fear regarding CP2077

Biggest fear:

- game not well optimized (like GTA IV)
- no 21:9 support
- huge CPU usage
- tough to play for FPS noobs like me
- game locked at 60 fps

Aight' that s the first time I see people fearing they cant go over 60 FPS, outside CS that is..

I'll be lucky to keep a steady 60 with everything cracked up on 1080p and I'm sporting decent hardware..

So I guess add bad optimisation on my otherwise short list of worries.

I agree about all of this, but I think we won't have to worry about #1 or #5, at least. The Witcher 3 was very well optimized, I was able to run it at over 100 FPS on my 970 with medium settings. Same FPS with hairworks on and low settings (yeah, hairworks in particular was not well optimized, but damn it looked good so I didn't care - especially since it was just a nice extra).

Similarly, the Witcher 3 was not locked at any particular FPS, to my knowledge. There was the "unlimited" option, after all.

And, even if CP2077 is locked at 60, you can undoubtedly just edit the .ini file to get around it.

Really? This is a very common concern among PC gamers. Most games that lock FPS get criticized for it, particularly Bethesda games.

Regardless, there's no reason to lock FPS at 60 on PC, because we have graphical settings and players who need it can turn it on if necessary.

Really.

The 2 common complaints related to FPS on pc are "locked 30" and "shit performance, crap console port" and for good reason, with the abundance of crap ports nowadays maintaining over 60 FPS in high quality is a close to utopic on anything but the latest hardware.

And note I specifically said maintaining. It's one thing to peak at 100 and have constant dips when moving the camera or things start happening to under 50. Especially in games with manual combat aiming like FPS's. Locking it at 60 would be better as a whole. But that's how I usually play.

I crank things up, turn on vsync which keeps things smooth and pretty at sixty.

I guess that's one place I'm lucky.

I really can't tell the difference between 30, 60, and 10,000,000 FPS.

Yeah, fair enough.

It's actually pretty easy to get upwards of (and yes, maintain) 100 FPS on modern games (provided they aren't, as you said, crap ports) even with mid-range hardware. You just crank the settings down.

The beauty of PC gaming is that you get to choose what matters to you. Do you care more about performance or visuals? (Rhetorical question)

For me, I've always cared about performance way more. And The Wicher 3 actually still looked pretty to me even on low-medium settings, especially with perf-boosting mods.

But anyway, I don't want to turn this into the Platform Discussion Thread V2, so I'll just say thanks for clarifying.

After what Sony did to Devil May Cry 5 , censorship is my biggest fear or Sony forcing me to buy a X Box is . Its hard to tell at the moment :disapprove:

Precisely what was censored, by the way? I don't want to derail too far, but I've seen it brought up on several occasions now and I'd like to have context.

Would you believe it was just a Female Butt, that is all, nothing to rude or crude. I don`t know where that would leave CP2077.

Funny glowing lights.
wait, as far as I know, the first picture was censored on all versions, while the second is the one censored only on ps4.

Good thing this is coming out now (before cp2077), internet is quite noisy about this right now, sony must listen to us or even bigger shitstorm will come, not good for them with ps5 coming in 2020.

As I see it, nudity will be much more present in Cp2077 than DMC5.

In many ways for narrative reasons, if that makes sense. Not in a "look, I'm naked kind of way" more in line to how it was in the demo. Organ smugglers won't care if their merchandise is naked or not, for them it's meat, you keep meat as cold as possible whithout freezing it to not damage it, self inflicting or otherwise. Plus you can't really surgically operate on someone who's clothed really. It's real, it's dark, it is how it is.

So yea, Sony better get their shit together, and all the rest of potential censors.

Yeah, fair point. In DMC it's only pure fan service, that could be the reason why that scene got censored. Fingers crossed, I'm not buying an xbox now, but if the censorship becomes ubiquitous on ps4, in 2020 I could go for an xbox2 instead of ps5 (sony's exclusives though )

Well if you censor one scene you (I Don't mean you personally, "you" generally, the censor) label as "fan service" then where do you stop? When is it "OK" to censor a scene? In an mature rated game? How do you do that whithout taking away from the game? From people's expectations when they are buying the game?

I don't think it's OK, at all, unless for those japanese games where you sexually harass, stalk or dream about raping women/little girls. But that's my "westerner opinion". For DMC 5 it's absolutely not fine.
What I meant is that if they censored only because it was simple fan service that didn't add anything to the game (the second scene, with the full butt, is censored on pc and xbox as well), cyberpunk shouldn't be at risk because nudity is part of the narrative and not there "just because".

If sony censored that butt crack because they don't want female nudity at all anymore, then it's a problem for CP as well.

Ofc there are things taboo and even downright illegal in certain parts of the world and not so much in others and I complelty understand that.

But what if for arguments sake, Cp2077 features nudity in the form of strippers and/or hookers or as a progression to romance options, arguably less narrative driven or impactfull than the organ smugllers example. Or maybe just there to show the level of degeneracy or debauchery present in other parts of game world. Things much easier to lable as "mindless" or "pointless" or fan service is what I mean.

So my point is censoring something which could be labeled meaningless nudity could lead to censoring any and everything. Because like you said the distinction is also dependant on the observer, their background, culture, political views, etc.

DMC5 and the whole series really was always a style over substance game. All flashy and cheesy and corny. The fast food of entertainment. It was never about deep thought provoking subject, more like mindless, fun action. So what if they showed a butt crack? It's just that, corny, easy-going and yes.. Meaningless, why censor it?

Worst case scenario, someone makes a mod for PC users to get rid of the censor.

But I remember them saying in an interview (multiple, I think) that the demo censorship was purely for the sake of the demo with press (and, presumably, YouTube and other websites where it was published) and won't be present in the final game.

I believe their rationale was that they didn't want the press going on and on about the nudity, distracting from coverage about the actual game. But I could be misremembering.

So, for now, nothing to worry about. I mean, there were jiggly boobies inches away from the player's face when you carry the woman's corpse out of the first area in the demo, and we see naked man butt a couple scenes later.

In many ways for narrative reasons, if that makes sense.

It does (make sense). As in, it's not there for the purpose of arousal.

To give a movie example, Lars Von Triers Nymphomaniac has a number of uncensored actual porn sequences in it, but inspite of that, not once does it appear as a porn flick. The scenes might seem gratuitous at times, but there's always a context behind them. [Just in case... No, I'm not suggesting CP to have porn in it.]

Same could be applied to violence. If violence is decidedly not made entertaining, but an ugly result of an act depicting the frailty of a human body as part of the narrative tension and thematic, it might actually mean something in the game (beyond "wow, blood and limbs flying").

I know its a stupid fear and something that other people detest but the cyberpunk experience is inherently a COOP experience and I will be sad if they don't add that into the game. I have been wishing for a COOP RPG experience for a long time and Divinity 2 is all I have so far.

Well, you might get your wish. Seamless multiplayer (of some sort) is something they got a grant for a while ago, and they've said in one interview that they have a team "doing research" into the possibility of coop and other such modes.

It was only censored on the PS not on PC or XBox . I don`t see why Sony thinks that nude butts are bad for us to see but cutting some NCPs head / arm / legs is okay. Parenting is up to the under age childrens parents not Sony . If blah blah game is rated M then parents should be the ones to stop little johnny from playing it .

I checked and I confirm that this scene

is censored on pc and xbox as well. If you want to remove the lens flare on pc you need to modify the .ini file by yourself: https://steamcommunity.com/app/601150/discussions/0/3398435622562201398/

This one is censored only on ps4:
