Why are cycle quests tied to Ranked?

Are there so few players already, that devs are trying to force people to play ranked games? Because not only you have to play very specific decks for these quests, but you're also stuck with the same "fresh" decks everyone plays in Ranked.

Yes, good question.
in fact it's very funny when you try to meet the criteria of the cycle quests and then you face opponents who destroy you in 30 seconds using the usual meta decks.
It's very nice to be a sitting duck.

But if you consider the possibility that the devs' goal is to make Gwent as boring and annoying as possible, it all starts to click.
