What weapons do you want to see in the game?

+
Woah woah woah, clip your string Chatty Cathy. :) The thread is what guns do you want to see? I am not attacking your choices, I am just stating mine. It is very possible that we have different aesthetics when it comes to gun porn. When you look at the pics that Thewarsend posts you see good weapons with rails on them, the rails are a way to modify weapons that sacrifice 'mobility' for modabiity. The design aesthetic that I want to see is the ability to make these modifications internal to the weapon, like the LaserMax laser sight for pistols that takes the place of the recoil spring, you can still holster your favorite semi auto pistol in a stock holster and have a laser sight.

On the subject of piercing armor. A "needle gun" is exactly what you want, unless you are planning to use a shaped charge round. It is all about delivering maximum kinetic energy to the smallest crosssectional area. Remember you get more KE for your buck from velocity than you do from mass. A "needle gun" uses this principle just as the APFSDS (armor piercing fin stabilized discarding sabot) tank round does.

The 'internal' mods would need to be 'custom rebuilds' or premade. But, I think that should be ok to do.

As for the 'Needle Gun', Flechette guns are in 2020 and they can be lethal against armoured targets. Of course, shotguns have the most verstile ammunition, including APFSDS, Flechettes, Slugs and my favourite, "THERMITE!"

New polmers and alloys making weapons ighter and more reliable. Better machining and construction techniques making them more accurate. Caseless ammunition saves space, so you can sometimes get more ammo in there. Shiny new toys for the dark future where firepower is as important as your next meal.

Then you get shit like the Teen-Dream...

(I know, I can't believe anyone would do that to a SIG... I nearly cried...)

Are you kidding me? That's brilliant, how else are you going to increase your market share? They need to make a Sesame Street version in .22 for the kids, you know get 'em in the game young.

As to upgrading old weapons that is exactly what I want to see. It is just that my design aesthetic is not to bolt the mods onto the gun but to build them into the gun.

...not feelin' it.

Seems like a lot of wasted space, for a submachine gun. I'd rather use the ol' H&K MP5. Just my opinion, of course.

That wasted space houses the firing mechanism. Considering the size of the round in that Kriss, it's stupidly stable. Here's why:

Instead of putting the kick from that big old .45 stright back into your shoulder, it directs it at a downward angle, massively reducing muzzle climb.

But I get it if it's not your thing.

The conversation of stopping power changes in an age of skinweaves. But yeah, .45 ball vs. 9mm ball, I will usually go for .45. 9mm will overpenetrate your apartments walls and shoot your neighbors also, too big of a headache to have to deal with.

Well, 2020 had that covered. Teen Dreams, Fashion Gun-9's and Polymer-One-Shots really were style over substance. hell, the Polymer-one-shot's were basically plastic and disposable.

Oh, and I found this for you:

There's a few things I'm not keen on. Not keen on the barrel being so offline from where your sights would be. (Yes, I realize using an SMG, you're not likely to be "sighting in" targets for accuracy, but still.) Not keen on the foregrip not being in line with the rear grip. And, on a purely aesthetic level, not keen on the design.

9mm will overpenetrate your apartments walls and shoot your neighbors...
Never liked those neighbors much, anyways. Though, s'pose you get what you pay for in rent. *shrugs*

Oh, before I forget. I want shields:

I am very defensive in my playstyle and ballistic shield suit me fine. I would rather reduce my firepower than reduce my defences.

No one has opinions on ballistic shields?

Also, Magpull know which way the wind is blowing, as usual:

5.56x45mm calibre, fully ambidextrous design, uses STANAG mags and Compact version is a massive 18 inches long...
Size of an MP5, hits like an M4...

Daaaaaammmmmn...

Hmmm. I think it would be nice to have ballistic shields. A portable one perhaps. (Like collapsible police baton) You could carry it around and use it only when you need it.

Now, that's a fine weapon. Throw in a drum magazine, a suppressor and a dot sight, you got yourself an unstoppable killing machine!

Riot shields like the one in your picture actually do little in the way of protection from bullets, and are more designed to protect against rocks, bottles, and other things hurled at the cops...

A ballistic shield is a much much heavier piece of equipment. For it to be useful at all really it's got to protect against rifle fire, which means an SP of 25... which means heavy plate with maybe some kevlar backing.... While small ones are made that don't hinder you too much, you have to decide what to try and cover with them, usually just your upper torso... the larger ones are quite heavy and bulky, and the big ones, used by swat for moving man up against heavily armed hostile targets , are usually so heavy they are placed on a dolly and wheeled forward.

And yeah, the Magpul is very pretty.

Just to be sure, you do realize that the last image in that series is not the shield folded up right, it's just the socket on the arm that the shield attaches to...

I do, i just couldn't find a picture that fully demonstrates what i meant. So i put a picture of a "folding shield". Just imagine that it collapses after it folds.

I mean, even now, they are making collapsible shields. It just doesn't collapse as much as one would hope:

They could make something better and more effective by 2077, i'm sure..

...fully ambidextrous design...

Hrm. If you shoulder the weapon, I wonder if the ejecting brass intereferes with the sight picture?

I like the design, though. Very slick.

I like the idea of riot shields / ballistic shields. Wisdom pretty much covered all the points I'd make.

The Berreta 93R, 3 shot auto fire pistol...this is the gan the used to make Robocops gun.

Funky little auto pistol

Sub Pistols like the 93r really never made much sense to me... 3 round burst on a pistol just seems to waste ammo...

It;s a personal thing... but I also really dig just pulling the trigger in games, it feels more visceral to me than just holding the button down...
