@Kallelinski Not going to quote your long text and/or reply to it completely, but I do have some general observations.

I feel you're just looking at one or two facets of the given arguments and bite down on those. The main things seems to be that they did something similar in previous game(s), so the start should be okay too now. Let met disagree with you there. Bad plus bad doesn't equal good. If Geralt has a habit of just leaving, they could've added a few lines to explain how/why Triss and Geralt broke up after TW2 - that's pretty much all we would have liked in this regard(obviously us Triss fans want more, but that would've been satisfactory ;)). As for how they did it with Shani, I don't really remeber. I never liked her much anyway - such a control-freak.
Your other argument is pretty much all about the books, and once again, I disagree. The game should make sense and be satisfying WITHOUT having read the books. Putting in options, teasers and references to the book is cool, but it should also be enjoyable, make sense and be satisfying for people who just played the games.

I for one actually tried reading the books a few years ago. Sadly enough there only were fan translations which were quite horrible, so I gave up(I might try again one fo these days though). Besides, some people that play games don't even like reading. I don't feel reading the books should be obligatory and the game should be satisfactory(good/enjoyable/....) as a stand-alone product.

So I'd like you to look at it from a less comparative angle - we do not think X is better, so we also want better. No, we think X(Triss) is underdone and unsatisfying, so we want her part of the game done better - or at least expanded upon. So in my opinion, all arguments relating to either the books or Yennefer are not valid arguments regarding the point we're trying to make.

she isn't just another woman, who will jump, when asked.
I never felt about her that way, not even at the start. She always had her own thing, while still helping the people she loved/cared for - which is one of the major reason I like her so much.

At the same time i feel like they nailed Yennefer and her part in the story almost perfectly, so it's easy to say for me that the way it went is fine by me... argh, this is so not going well for me here, i already can see the quotes...., sorry
There you go ;). I appear to be one of the few people who actually likes Yennefer too though. I thought she was indeed a very well done character(though I guess they could've added some extra lore/mood conversations in the later part of the game). I still like Triss even more though
So I guess we are (somewhat) in agreement after all! :p

PS.
You write too much :p

PPS.
...on a second thought maybe i should have just shut my mouth... but it would be boring, if everyone had the same opinion, i guess.
I don't mind, I like a proper discussion. :)

PPPS.
Please, don't take it personal, but you appear right now like running in circles with torch and pitchforks, just because it didn't went the way you wanted.
I don't see any pitchforks. The discussion to this point has been very constructive and civilized in my opinion. It might go in circles a bit, but that's to be expected. A lot of people are starting to finish the game just now and they haven't read all previous pages of discussion.

Totally agree so far. I was hoping about more feelings and reactions after you telling her that she is the one. I mean seriously triss isnt dumb she knows or at least thinks that she has no Chance to get geralt becuz of Yen. And then all of a sudden when they are at the harbor.. U just randomly telling her your feelings and idk. I expected something like damn she is gone and then dijxtra is like geralt!! Turn Around! U kidding me? Thats Not funny! No ffs turn around and then theres triss. So awesomeeee but why didnt she cry? For example i mean she should explode bcuz of happiness. I expected more feelings and emotions

Welcome! You got the forever alone end, nice one lol. Always a new play through so you live and learn.

Yes, great, I know. :) As I said, I didn't metagame at all and was completely unaware of the fact that being a good teacher (calm Ciri down, tell her she doesn't need to be good at everything, trying to protect her from the Lodge) instead of a juvenile and irresponsible clown would also result in what I know now to be the *bad* ending.

So imagine how I felt once the ending credits rolled. :D First time I was depressed for an hour or so after having finished a big CRPG. Oo
And I did essentially almost everything in this game. The other slides resulted in good outcomes as well, with Nilfgaard winning, Mages essentially saved, Skellige ruled by what most would call a *good* queen... but Gerald is completely f'ed :D

Guess I'll have to do another playthrough once the Enhanced Edition is out.

I think whats required here is implementing a "follower" status. We know it can be done as during the game we follow other characters, and we have other characters follow us. There would be a home that the characters go to, maybe Triss could have a flat in Novigrad, or be at her room in Kaer Mohren, same with Kiera, and same with Yen, Dandylion etc etc, hey even Jutta, or Tamira (herbalist) but they would have certain features, follow, stay here, wait, and the big one...kiss.

You wouldn't even need a sex scene for intimacy (or make it only available inside said flat, house etc) but I think the animations are there, so you can just ask Triss to "kiss me" then go about your quest, or ramble, this is the kind of immersion needed and I am sure it can be done once the RedKit is out. So...to summize, yes it would be nice for more Triss in the game in a DLC, but surely the best thing would be a fully featured "follower" she would comment, and have idle chat.
I would love this to happen.

Like you said, RedKit is the answer for the making her a follower, because if CDPR would do it they would have to make it as polished and for every language version of the game, and it just doesn't worth it. (for them, to put in the effort on a "gimmick")

We should focus on what so damn missing right now - the immersion breaking. a follower system would be amazing but sadly as I far as I can tell - unrealistic.

I know how you feel! I had exactly the same thing. I was wondering what I did wrong. But apparently Ciri doesn't like to be grounded (by reality). So the next day I played from the 'point of no return' and got the good ending - that actually had Triss in it :smiling:. Then again, no real ending conversation, which I found somewhat disappointing.
At least it got me my happily ever after scene, which is something I guess.

Rejected Triss because of Yennefer, now going back to fix this.

I am disappointed by how scarce Triss content is if you reject her, and will probably concur with the rest of you when I play it differently. To many 'Well?'s and a lack of side dialog in general.

Triss really feels as the party scene and future happenings unfold, to be Geralt's 'one true love'. She embodies what he doesn't have but desires in himself; the ability to let go and be care free for a moment, to exercise free will, to whimsically dance on a fountain; it's a wholeness he will never see with Yen

Exactly, it completely boggles the mind how beta Gerald becomes occasionally when with Yen. Becomes a completely different character. I really had a hard time liking my Geralt after seeing how henpecked he looked, sometimes even outright dumb and like an oaf.
With Triss however, the relationship seems much more healthy for him and his self-worth is intact. Feels like a much more harmonic and symbiotic relationship to me.
As I said, if there would have been any indication other than common sense :p that there would be dire consequences and essentially a point of no return (could have easily been achieved with one or two additional lines from Yen, inquiring after the status of the Gerald Triss relationship, right before you tell her that you love her) for Geralt's happiness, I would choose Triss over Yen 10 out of 10 times.

At least it got me my happily ever after scene, which is something I guess.

Could you please do me the favour and summarize said ending slide for me? I don't think I can wait until the Enhanced Edition to know what could have been :p
Stupid has only one save left before the Yen point-of-no-return. And that is essentially three days of hardcore gaming away from the end credits... Not gonna do that anytime soon, or my gf would prolly kill me. ^^

Judging from the amount of content out there, I do think there needs to be some more for these main characters. However, I am more interested in seeing this after the main quest. This is supposedly Geralt's final chapter and well, I'd like to play around with Triss after the epilogue.

Welcome! As for Triss content after the main quest... You will find many here who share what you want.

Triss will always be my choice no matter how much the REDs are pandering to Yen adding more content to her.
I do have the bitter taste in my mouth of having being shafted by CDPR for not liking Yen. I seriously dislike her and things won't change for me. No hate intended to those who like her but I so want more Triss in this game. I so hope for additional content with Triss in their DLCs even paid ones.

Welcome! I understand your bitterness. Maybe consider changing your avatar to Triss for support. I Hope to see you here in the discussion, showing support and keeping the thread alive.

We can only hope.

More Triss, absolutly !
I simply don't like Yen and I will never ever choose her (nevertheless I understand all the people choosing Yen ! It's just my personal taste).

Exactly, there is a followers system that is used just in some quests, definitely if used could help a lot.

Team Yen here, but I Completely agree. I think however, there's a more important discussion to be made between the Witcher 2 and 3 that includes not only Triss, but every romance option available. The sex scenes and just romance in general in the Witcher 3 is much more toned down, and not very drawn out, as if catering to a certain vocal minority. What's worse, almost all the scenes are reused copy/pastes of having sex with a prostitute. (not including the very mild foreplay dialogues)
It's very underwhelming and feels lazy. There's a slideshow porn feel to the scenes, unlike the great direction and artistic value that added depth to the characters in The Witcher 2. Remember that defining moment of Triss in the secluded pool? (What happened to those 16 hours of recorded motion caps?)
And what's even worse than that, is they all pretty much share identical body models with the same pair of tits! Did nobody notice this? Triss had a boob job and body change since we last met her. Apparently she wanted to look like every other prostitute. So did Yen. Oh and Keira. The only unique body type are... old people..and the chubby girls (that have identical faces and bodies) in the bath house. Furthermore, we're now afraid to show pubic hair. Something is going on here, and I don't like it.

Of course, this isn't a major issue or anything and certainly pales in comparison to the rest of the game, but I've always respected and admired Project Red for not falling victim to being so insufferably politically correct like every other AAA company. They are the only team that doesn't need a certain group of entitled people to tell them how to portray fictional characters in their own game. And this is the sole reason why I give them my money. They make games for gamers, with wonderfula ttention to detail. They love what they do and don't resort to formulaic, mass produced burgers like other companies that are designed with nothing but money in mind.

The difference between them is that Project Red creates games. Other game companies create "products".

This however seems to be changing, and despite the dark humour, mentions of rape, extreme violence, child murder, racism and even a mutant ghost baby fetus rising from the grave, we've moved to a very Americanized approach to portraying sex. I may be reading too much into it with the pandering to modern feminists thing, but that doesn't change the reused scenes, same bodies across all women, and formulaic slideshow porn approach to the scenes.

I sincerely hope the expansions and future titles shred my possible misconception to bits.

I kind of agree about Triss not being present much.

Although Yennefer is my choice or at least will be most of the time, i think Triss should also be a serious romance choice.

The main story has many quests where you have to talk with Yennefer and run around doing stuff with her. I think a better way to have gone with this is, if a player chooses Triss as a romance then she should be present in some of these story quests instead so you feel like Triss isn't forgotten or insignificant. Could be easier to have two sorceresses for that role based on what players choose.

Playing through the game for the second time, and I planned to try the Yen option, but once I reached Triss I just couldn't refuse her. Guess it's the lone wolf playthrough.

On a side note Triss polish voice is AMAZING.
